The closure of the supervised consumption site at the Somerset West CHC has created an absolute crisis in Ottawa’s Chinatown — @catmckenney.bsky.social and I wrote about it last summer. Expect to see more public drug use, everywhere. Shame on the Ford govt.

Women make up 80% of Canada’s non-profits, and help the most vulnerable people in our society yet are under-resources and staff under-paid. The ONN has a great site on this glaring example of how the contributions of women in our society are devalued.

Ottawa is saying YES to housing. Today, I signed a $400-million affordable housing agreement with Prime Minister Mark Carney at the Mayor’s Breakfast. Ottawa is the first municipality in Canada to partner with Build Canada Homes.
