oh, I was very recently watching that episode, and relished how that still lands as hilarious for me every time.
oh, that's a great one, thanks for the reminder!
as a Lower Decks fan, I now need to know which you're rating as the funniest scene? 🤩
A significantly strong argument I almost never see made is how it decouples “insurance” from employment and how it would be a huge boost to entrepreneurship.
People with business ideas would no longer feel scared to leave an employer to try out their business idea.
I AM OVERJOYED
Kitty Cat! Dance, dance, dance, meow, meow, meow!
A photo from the NYC Easter Bonnet Parade 2026. @megawheeze is the farthest right of the three figures, wearing a gigantic top hat covered in lime-green stretch velvet, with the top half covered in prisms & pastel eggs, & wearing a gown made of 2 trans flags. The central figure is wearing a "Jesus-like" white robe with 2 strings of large costume pearls and a painting-style halo that reads "Resurrect Kindness" and the figure on the left is wearing a pink trench coat, hot pink feather boa, and a pink Lady Liberty style crown.

I am too tired to contribute anything scintillating to this conversation, but I can't postpone my enthusiasm about finding other people who love this show!
Please remember that dandelions are not truly weeds. They are the bees first meal in the spring. Grow and protect the dandelions, save the bees and you save the world.

I was into resisting fascism before it was cool, not like all these poseurs
if the tech bros were a little less delusional, they would be making so much money right now by offering to let us pay for the AI-free version of their programs
😬
a wonderful moment of respite in beauty; thanks for posting
A trio of geriatric Klingons and Jadzia Dax coming through some doors they just exploded with smoke billowing behind them as one of the Klingon screams" look upon your executioners, killer of children"
"You have not experienced Shakespeare until you have [heard] him in the original Klingon"
Honestly, right now, I believe it.
heads up for anyone who has already blocked Neil Gaiman.
if you previously followed Neil before finding out he had assaulted multiple women, Bluesky might still have you set as following him.
you can either fix that manually since he has reactivated or with this tool:

MAKE AN EMERGENCY DONATION to Trans Continental Pipeline right now.
They are a Colorado based org that helps trans people relocate there and they are overwhelmed with requests. CO borders KS, and TCP has the infrastructure to help get people out.
GO DONATE.

You, an individual, cannot "fix" the whole world. You can act at the scale of your life. You should act at the scale of your life.

Dear Mr. Nadeau: As long as there is one upright man, as long as there is one compassionate woman, the contagion may spread and the scene is not desolate. Hope is the thing that is left to us, in a bad time. I shall get up Sunday morning and wind the clock, as a contribution to order and steadfastness. Sailors have an expression about the weather: they say, the weather is a great bluffer. I guess the same is true of our human society — things can look dark, then a break shows in the clouds, and all is changed, sometimes rather suddenly. It is quite obvious that the human race has made a queer mess of life on this planet. But as a people we probably harbor seeds of goodness that have lain for a long time waiting to sprout when the conditions are right. Man’s curiosity, his relentlessness, his inventiveness, his ingenuity have led him into deep trouble. We can only hope that these same traits will enable him to claw his way out. Hang on to your hat. Hang on to your hope. And wind the clock, for tomorrow is another day. Sincerely, E. B. White
I just stumbled across this and thought some of you might like to see it. A letter from E.B. White to a man who'd written he'd lost all hope:
well, thanks for replying to me anyway! It's very cool.
