Just finished playing A Plague Tale: Requiem. I'm not much of a stealth gamer, but this story was too tantalizing to miss out on. Wrote a retrospective on my experience playing this wonderful game.

Also wrote a little retrospective on the game jam creative process! I think I came up with a great concept this time, even if the execution was a little rudimentary.

I strongly believe Jay Tholen is an actual genius of game development. It is incredibly unfortunate to hear about this cancellation, but in my mind its just a matter of time before he creates a genre-defining game, something that hits Undertale levels of notoriety.

Take a peek!

A brief GIF to show off the basic combat sequence. This enemy has two effects - Reverse, which simply flips the word, and MapDownARow, which maps each letter down a row on the keyboard.
So AIM becomes:
[Reverse] A->M, I->I, M->A = MIA
[MapDownARow] M->U, I->K, A->Z = UKZ
Developer Log #2 for my upcoming turn-based RPG is up on YouTube! Come check out my progress on DISCOvery, and get a little insight into the dev process. This is my first time building a game, but I'm a couple hundred hours in so I've got some thoughts!

Put together my first Developer Log last week for my game-in-progress DISCOvery. It may not look like much, but I am very proud of what I've built so far. I'm not building a masterpiece, but I promise it'll be full of heart and soul!

Audio on this was awful. I'm paring out all the stream elements stuff and tweaking the audio - if it still sounds bad, I'll just cut my audio & let the game speak for itself.

Have You Hird: Mouthwashing
I gave this game a 5/10, but it is by no means an average game. There are parts I loved, and parts I absolutely despised. I was wholly underwhelmed with where the story went, but I don't regret playin it.

Have You Hird: Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Review is now up on YouTube! I thought it was a cute, silly movie that revolved around the moody, brooding, edgy Shadow, and his quest to fight pain with pain. I really appreciated his character, overall a good movie!

Here's a link to my playthrough - all in one video, a little under 3 hours. I do think it's a game worth experiencing (whether on your own playthrough or via a stream), even if I ended up being pretty disappointed by the end.

I just didn't enjoy it as a game or as a story. I'm really struggling to articulate the reasons why, especially now learning about what happened to Anya, and why the crash happened. I just really thought the game fell apart for the last third. I thought it was shallow and boring.
Anya is a good character and I like her. I thought all the characters were good. And I really don't mean to downplay how awful it is what happened to her. It's a fucking despicable thing to do, makes my blood boil every time I hear about it. It is unforgivable.
Maybe I'll warm up to the game as I get further away from it, but for now it feels like a missed opportunity. Very little depth, very little built upon the characters it did a good job of establishing. I feel like I'm underplaying the central trauma, which I really don't mean to.
Just thought there was very little actual plot for a 3 hour investment. All character development ended with like a third of the game left. It was all just this spiraling into madness - cool visuals but just got really repetitive in my opinion. Hitting the same themes constantly
