Just as a matter of fact - American involvement in WWI and WWII was much shorter than his chart says.
For the US, WWI lasted about 18 months and WWII lasted about three years, nine months.

Our sunsets are back.
Oh aye. That as well - all at 8.30. Tremendous stuff tbf.
Absolutely.
In Zagreb at a market - just seen a lad sit down with an espresso, a shot and a a beer.
That’s a racing start to your day.
Lost Lambs by Madeline Cash
Very funny and very enjoyable satire on modern America.
Shades of “Eternal Sunshine…” as dysfunctional and flawed family face down multiple crises.

Dapper as, the pair of them.
Thanks!
Flight now delayed by two hours and, despite the £3 voucher from Ryanair for a snack or beverage, I’m regretting my life choices.
Terminal 3 at Manchester Airport - the worst of all the terminals, no?
Aye.
We live not far from Hillsborough - driving into Sheffield you go right past it. And I the thing I think about every time is how Liverpool fans got looked after by the folks in the houses round the back of the stadium.
A pile of colourful print designs
Sometimes being a one woman creative business isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Today has been one of those days where I haven’t sold anything in my online shop.
Have a look at my shop and please repost to spread the word. Thanks.

“I plant to fight many more battles on many more hills.”
Absolutely nicking this for future use.
Nausea and vomiting certainly a risk when I “return to earth” as well.
Biathletes: ski it, slay it, sorted.
See it, say it, mort it.
Goth: sun’s out, fun’s out.
Easily my favourite Bond movie - Moore giving perfect golf-club-captain-in-space vibes, just about to slip out of that suit and into a blazer and slacks.
Sounds ace Iain. Preparing my pitch for a yacht rock show with sailing chat.
I think it goes back further.
Like a lot of what the state used to do, PI took a big hit with austerity.
The 2010-15 gov also had a philosophical opposition to the state telling anyone what to do.
Add in vogue for nudge theory.
And, once gov stops doing something, it’s hard to start it again.
Went to see Project Hail Mary last night.
Can report v strong knitwear and big coat game from Gosling.
Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead
Noir-ish thriller-ish but a fair bit more than that.
Brilliant, witty and moving evocation of 1960s Harlem, populated with vivid characters and full of sentences you can chew on eg: ‘The war didn’t change Pepper, it completed him.’

Ah come on Simon. I’m doing you a favour.
I’m hoping there’s a chapter in @davidepstein.bsky.social’s new book which adds further weight to this call for much-needed legislation to stop wasting my time.
Paradise - more evidence to support my white paper: ‘All TV dramas should be limited to one series.’
Nice idea, good set-up in eps 1-3. Could have been great if limited to one 10-ep series.
Instead, end of series 1: wait his wife is still alive.
Then, end of series 2: wait there’s another bunker.
Reminds me of the anecdote Caitlin Moran tells of when she was vile about Ned’s Atomic Dustbin (who were an awful racket tbf) in a review because that’s what was required then.
IIRC, she goes on to say it was Pete Paphides who took her aside and said it wasn’t right, even if the music was terrible.
