Great piece from my colleague @anisahob.bsky.social on how to continue doing DEI work amid political backlash: “We just need to focus on the North Star of building an equitable society — and startups are in a unique space to do that and gain from it.”

Thought I'd draw your attention to a new jobs board that has just launched.
It's connecting talent and companies that actively stand against the oppression of Palestinian and Lebanese people.
They're currently looking for more employers to add jobs.

I think there’s a pressure, especially in tech, to read what everyone else is reading. Even more so when you’re then publicly sharing your reading lists. I’m not saying they’re bad but it’s truly a narrowing of world views which isn’t good for progress or innovation. Plus where’s all the fiction?
I was looking through some of my male friends’ reading lists and out of the 20 last books they’ve read, I was lucky if I found one female author.
Out of my last 20, 10 were women and one was co authored by a woman.
This is v cool

⚒️I'm a founder at heart, always building something
👩🏽💻I write Startup Life at Sifted, a newsletter for/by operators

And I have a very cute dog and will use her for engagement!
I really do love when 'straight' men talk about exploring their sexuality.
I'd love to read books, watch films, see plays that cover being 'romantically heterosexual but bicurious and sexually aroused by the same sex' theme, as described in this interview.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want to do with my time and skills over the next few years and I realised that the toxicity of social media is impacting me.
It’s slowly killing my optimism that has always powered by ability to build.
So I’m done with X as a first step.
