I've seen AI lead to more meaningful work for humans in manufacturing settings, but only with clearly articulated goals from leadership, safe/sovereign AI setups (certainly not from the big providers) and significant investment in learning.

I would also question what the company is doing outside of hamfisted don't use company data mandates to support your learning and experimentation. How are you being kept safe and aligned with company goals?

Start with asking for an understanding of the company's north star regarding AI. If they're not addressing company data management (removing spreadsheets, customer communication, streamlining process) then what is the goal?
