a man with glasses and a plaid jacket says we have it all Alt: The Lost Boys: Edward Hermann, a man with glasses and a plaid jacket that is totally 80s, says "we have it all"

I never saw The Craft but:

One thing about living in California I never could stomach: All the damn demons.

Sleep all day, party all night, never grow old, never die, it's fun to be in Monterey.

Yeah, that's as close to California as I like to go.

It’s like we’re flipping the standard deal, and the last three decades are instead “first as comedy, then as tragedy.”

Say what you will about the dotcom bubble, at least the CEO of Pets dot com didn’t glaze the Third Reich.

Personally I would consider whether repeated and constant exposure to a disease known to cause brain damage and cognitive/concentration difficulties might be, you know, doing those things.

In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

I liked the second Guardians a lot more than the first, so may be a YMMV.

Captain Marvel has a number of plot twists so once you know them, sure, boring.

But a good number of re-watchable ones, including Iron Man 1&3, Avengers 1,3&4, Captain America, and I’m always turning Thunderbolts* back on.

As U.S. birth rate falls, Trump officials downplay contraception in family planning program According to new CDC data, there were 3.6 million U.S. births in 2025, a 1% decline from 2024 and down 23% since 2007. The Trump administration has said it wants to reverse this trend.

The U.S. fertility rate has dropped – but not because of birth control. Women need health care, child care, paid leave, and access to fertility care. Instead, the Trump Administration is trying to undermine contraception access and push an anti-choice agenda.

They should definitely do a Marvel movie with Jenna Ortega as the former Vice-President's daughter, who has found out about Extremis and is angry about what was done with the research (and her father, as well).

I’m no communications savant, but it’s quite possible that this is a useful way to encourage people to realize that “the ability for the Supreme Court to overrule legitimately passed and constitutional legislation is why the judiciary needs to be reformed by Congress.”

In thinking about what to do about the rogue Court, we maybe focus a bit too much on court packing yes or no, granted that's the most important. But some of the less sexy things can be done by more mundane statutory fixes. Congress could, and should, nuke the shadow docket.

Nick Fury's grave from The Winter Soldier, redone with Pete Hegseth's name, and including the "Ezekiel 25:17" quote

Seems about right.

The man who first quotes "Ezekiel 25:17" ends the movie by explaining what it means to him.

He realizes that it's not about protecting good people in an evil world, which was a way he justified the things that he did.

Instead it really means: "You're the weak, and I'm the tyranny of evil men."
