The law was first passed by the #Quebec government in 2019. Numerous activists and organizations including the National Council of Canadian Muslims have been challenging it in lower courts since.

The Supreme Court of Canada will hear a challenge of #Bill21, also known as Quebec’s #secularism law.

The law has prevented those in public service roles from wearing religious symbols while at work, notably targeting women wearing hijabs.
