Being a VBA dev as part of my day job is a frustrating exercise.

Bad documentation is the worst. I get so mad about it.
Nothing is properly documented, and now with so many folks using LLM to generate their documentation and never checking it, who KNOWS if its actually accurate any longer...

There is little more frustrating than an antivirus deciding your code looks too much like a publicly available function for something that is also used as an attack surface, and having to go through the sometimes WEEKS long process of submitting false positive reports...

I know QUITE a lot about LLM and ML, hilariously.
And Im STILL screaming about that, because false positive pattern matching with things like Defender is a BANE of my work life.
Absolutely NOTHING like having processes break because Defender strips the VBA out of docs and doesnt keep a log of it.

Personally I think "You have one shot at an academic career and too bad if that happens during a world-historical collapse in research funding" is maybe not a great long-term professional incentive structure
