Holy cow, you guys! Perdido Street Station is $0.99 on Australian Kindle today! Did I buy a copy? Well, I already have a signed hardback and a paperback so … of course I bought it. It’s 99 cents!

Thank goodness he’s already won the war. What sort of crazy shit would he get up to if he were losing?!

Good news from Hungary! That JD Vance visit sure helped, didn’t it?

I’d swap ‘bitter’ out for ‘clear-sighted’ and ‘crotchety’ out for ‘fed up with people’s BS’, and sign on with you 100%. 😉

Seriously, though: I know we’re don’t see everything from here but I thought his ‘middle powers’ speech was excellent and his attitude to the US spot-on. AI is 👎 though.

He was doing so well, too. ☹️

Oh, I don’t know. I think the world is just about ready for an epic fantasy trilogy featuring triangular aquatic creatures. I feel like the pages would just skate by.

I’ll get me coat.

Indeed. And once I calm down I’ll no doubt feel desperately sorry for her. How terrible to go through life with such a mundane outlook.

I’ve never understood how we can spend trillions of dollars and years on weapons, gambling, plastic surgery, boner pills, subsidising pollution and other demonstrable wastes of money, but you put humans into space for the first time in half a century and *that’s* a misuse of resources 🤯

Let’s stop going into space. There’s nothing to see and no one to talk to | Zoe Williams I’ve nothing against astronauts or scientific innovation. But what’s the point of Artemis II, asks Zoe Williams

Yes, well done. You’ve popped all the balloons & pissed in the dip. The party’s ruined & now everyone else is as miserable as you are. Now you can hop in the car & drive somewhere natural & beautiful on Earth, using the car’s GPS. Technology that wouldn’t be possible without space exploration. Moron

Thank you, but I’m all good. I appealed and they lifted the suspension.

Huh. So, on the weekend I posted on Facebook that corporate regulatory powers are too lax and Facebook should never have been allowed to buy Instagram, and yesterday my Facebook account was suspended for ‘breaching community standards’. I’m sure that’s just a massive coincidence, though … 🤷‍♂️

I was 19 when it started and had got back into reading comics about 4 years earlier, and Crisis hit me like a shock wave. All my favourites – New Teen Titans, All-Star Squadron, infinity Inc – had intriguing little vignettes included. For me, having been there at the time, it was a revelation.

I used to love Round the Horne. And Julian and Sandy were always a highlight. Bona.

Although we offered, I believe I said (of the record) that the right imprint for the book didn’t exist. IIRC I said to need a book version of DC’s Vertigo. Still, better late than never!

A cup of tea, a chocolate chip cookie and two books on a table: The Summer Tree & The Ghost in Bone.

Celebrating 60 years upon this Earth with a lovely Mariage Frères French Breakfast Tea, a choc-chip cookie lovingly made by my youngest daughter, and a couple of books by pals & favourite authors, @mikecarey.bsky.social & @guygavrielkay.bsky.social. Taking joy in the simple things in life. Slainte.

Statistically, it was bound to happen eventually. Quite the wait, though …

Yeah, we are. And it’s *your* fault. Twat.

And then there’s all the RWNJs in our fringe politics (and the right of the mainstream conservative parties) who see Trump as someone to be imitated rather than repudiated. He’s dragging *everyone’s* politics into the gutter.

Yes. I mean, I did live there for 20 years, but I knew about the Cottingley Fairies before that.

Well, gentleman. May I humbly suggest that if your work is so important that you have to be on the phone during your (and *our*!) commuting time, that you get your arses into work earlier?
