Golden memories of the great Rue McClanahan, who I adored since toddlerhood (still do), on what would have been her 91st birthday.

Book Review: Alter Ego by Alex Segura - Criminal Element Alex Segura returns with Alter Ego—a clever and escapist standalone sequel set in the world of comic books.

Appreciate this wonderful ALTER EGO review by @oyejohn52.bsky.social at @crimehq.bsky.social! "rare continuation novel that fully stands alone while amplifying what came before it." www.criminalelement.com/book-review-... @flatironbooks.bsky.social

The original SCREAM trilogy was my equivalent of STAR WARS and sparked a lifelong love for "meta slasher whodunits." I still vividly remember the excitement leading up to 2000's SCREAM 3 (aka SCR3AM), released 25 years ago today ...

Going (Alex) #Guarnaschelli for the New Year, recipe 5: Italian Bakery Chocolate & Jam Sandwich Cookies. It felt like every step - from the dough to the chocolate glaze to the jam filling -was a misstep and yet the cookies are divine! Which reaffirms my belief in sprinkles. 😋

Going #guarnaschelli for the New Year, recipe 4: Classic Penne Arrabbiata. I've always loved heat, and the red pepper flakes certainly bring it! FYI: Arrabbiata translates to "angry" ... which seems appropriate! From Alex Guarnaschelli's ITALIAN AMERICAN FOREVER.

Going (Alex) Guarnaschelli for the New Year, recipe 3: Fettuccine Alfredo. Per usual, she's spot on when she advises freshly grated Parmesan cheese and committing to fettuccine noodles (to best absorb the sauce). I substituted broccoli for peas. Cookbook: ITALIAN AMERICAN FOREVER. 😋
