We would like to thank the 76 people from the Belfast, Northern, South Eastern + Western Trusts who responded to our survey last week.
We presented these findings + more at a meeting with the NI Health Dept. A copy of all feedback has been given to them.

We had been under the impression that @sorchaeastwood.bsky.social had also voted in support of NC1 but she did not attend the vote in Westminster last night.
We are also hearing Sorcha removed her name from support of NC1.
Can you please clarify?

Credit where credit is due-we would like to thank @clairehanna.bsky.social and @columeastwood.ie for voting to support the decriminalisation of abortion for people who can get pregnant in England and Wales.
We are always available to chat about changing @sdlp.bsky.social party stance on this issue.
Feel free to use our letter to lobby your MP. This is written from a NI context but can be easily edited.
We urge all MP's to fully repeal Sections 58 and 59 of the OAPA in Westminster this Tuesday.
Please reach out to your MP and ask them to do the same.

This week we attended an APPG for SRH in Westminster to show gratitude to the doctors providing abortion care in the north and to implore MP's to support aid into Gaza and to stop Israel's genocide.
Initially refused entry-we made our voices heard.

Yesterday on St. Patrick's Day we were honoured to be invited by Anne Crilly to remember Cecily Jackson on what was 300 years since she was burned to death in a shocking act of misogyny + violence against women.
We support the request for a marker or plaque to be put in place to memorialise Cecily.
Thank you so much everyone. We have reached our target and the money has gone directly to those who need it.
Folks, we have had some requests for help with electricity, rent and food for people in need. We need to raise about £350.
If you can spare it, please donate to our mutual aid fund and we will distribute money confidentially to those in need of help. Thank you!

During 2023/24 there were 2,792 abortions carried out in Northern Ireland, an increase of 28.8% from 2022/23. The majority of these abortions were medical (pills), with only 198 surgical abortions performed.
This increase is undoubtedly down to embedding of top quality abortion services into our healthcare system. However, the punitive cost of living crisis and two-child benefit cap will also have had a huge impact on whether persons or families made the decision to terminate.
Abortions were sought in every region of Northern Ireland. 793 in Belfast Trust 610 in Northern Trust 558 in South Eastern Trust 523 in Southern Trust 308 in Western Trust These figures show the necessity of abortion care for all across the north - both urban and rural.
The vast majority (93%) of all abortions were carried out under ten weeks gestation. 72 abortions were carried out on under-18s 567 abortions were carried out on 35 + 2118 abortions were carried out on 18-34s Over 24+ weeks gestation still must travel to GB for care. We hope that those in need will soon be looked after at home.
Last week, the NI Department of Health published statistical information on the number of medical abortions and terminations of pregnancies at HSC Trusts in Northern Ireland during 2020/21 to 2023/24.
