usually when I'm on podcasts, I'm talking politics and religion. Saudi investment in sport had me on a few podcasts talking about the PIF.

This is my first ever podcast just talking about golf and how Scotland got me hooked on the game and why Oz deepened my love. @mikeclaytongolf.bsky.social

An insult to bellends everywhere 😃

Hmmm…..the obvious question now is: where does MacIntyre actually draw the line when it comes to his behaviour? 🤔👇

Am a regular listener to LBC and enjoy much of what I hear. But their weather forecasts are pathetic. Today I heard “rain in Scotland.” Not the biggest country to be sure but not small enough that we all get the same weather 🙄

No mishit….but maybe pulled a little 😉

If still going after two goes, the location of Hilton Head’s 18th hole will be changed. This could take months folks. Wouldn’t be easier just to change the pin position? 🤷‍♂️

Similarly, historians will retch at Zelensky’s treatment in the Oval Office & beyond. We all moved on to the next abomination without even stopping for sandwiches…

Huggan's Alley: Scottie Scheffler, built to outlast the field In an era of narrowing margins, Scottie Scheffler’s relentless consistency sets him apart, if his brilliance is defined less by flash than by an extraordinary ability to outlast every rival.

Confusion seems to be prevalent in certain quarters. Rory and Faldo are not the Europeans with most major wins. That honour still belongs to Harry Vardon. The channel islander won seven.

Rory shows definite promise for one so young 😃

As ever 👍

Faldo continuing to verbalise every inane/banal/pointless thought that enters his head. Mostly he’s talking to himself 🙄

Watching majors on Sky can be a frustrating business. Those in charge seem to think they are creating a tv show when all they really need to do is show the golf 🤷‍♂️

Sky commentator just uttered the phrase “a bit more tougher.” Sorry. We are entitled to expect better. 🙄

Good to see Nick Dougherty in his Hibs strip today 😃

Just watched an old Parkinson show. George Michael was the guest. Read a lot about him after his untimely death. Just about all of it made me think he was a bloody great human being. He could sing too 👍

Memo to Faldo: please stop talking so much. Just stop. 🙈

Hmmm….is it just me or does it sound a little bit like Faldo is deriving some pleasure from Rory’s struggles? 🤔

Watching the Masters on Sky. With only one or two exceptions it is way too easy to predict what the commentator will say in the wake of nearly every shot. Overall the coverage lacks imagination in that department 🙄

In the wake of that appalling ruling at us open last year I root for Burns to do well. Plus, he played great - although beaten by a rampant Rory - at Ryder cup in Italy. He’s due a break 👍

Not sure what this means, if anything, but 11 members of the most recent European Ryder Cup team made the cut at the Masters 😃

While it is easy to own many misgivings about the world created around the Masters, there is no doubt that, when the golf starts, the green jackets invariably get it right. Would love to listen in when they gather to decide on the winning score 😃

My last visit to the Masters was two years ago. Rory won last year and may do so again this year. These events are, I’m sure, unconnected 😃

Reflecting on last night at the Masters. While Scheffler has surely been the best player for the last three years or more, the most interesting and entertaining aspect of golf at the elite level remains Rory at the top of his game. Yesterday was magical 😎

Apparently not. He certainly needs to be subjected to some proper journalism rather than fawning pr nonsense.
