My most anticipated game of the year is almost certainly not releasing this year. I really don't see it happening.
That's ok though, I absolutely don't mind waiting. Just make it the best game it can possibly be on release. Plenty of awesome games to play in the meantime.

That's what I'm hoping for! ๐ค
That's awesome to know, hoping it'll be the same for me ๐ค
I was thinking of holding off to maybe play it on the Helix but I've got such a cyberpunk itch right now that I just had to jump in lol
Not gonna lie man I have insanely high hopes for this one. The only game this gen I've always felt could crack my all-time top 3. Guess we'll see where it ends up landing!
I think it's priced quite appropriately as well. $20 for a unique audiovisual experience with content that will take you well past the 12hr mark is very reasonable imo.
Plus I'm sure you know but it's also on GP if you happen to have that
I've concluded the responsible thing was to keep digging at the backlog. But after REPLACED I'm still in a real cyberpunk mood.
So yeah fam. I guess it's time ๐ฅน
(Depending on how this goes over the next month you might either see me spam your TL or go radio silent, who knows)
Absolutely. What an incredibly cinematic experience
Appreciate it legend, and yeah quite a one-of-a-kind feeling when a game just hits you so hard out of nowhere huh.
I'll shut up about it soon but art direction in REPLACED is epic. Not just the obvious like the 2.5/3D blend, still shots or use of music as an enhancer. It's the subtle things like the way the camera gently sways when the character is static. It really brings you into the game.
REPLACED reminds me of games like Scorn (which many hated), Signalis or Dredge. It's more narratively accessible than those, but the evocative nature of the experience was very similar to me. It nails some of the intangibles I most value in gaming.
Frustrating at times, but I loved it nevertheless.
Wife and I just finished watching Undertone.
EXCELLENT film. I miss these horror movies that prey upon what's lurking behind your own mind rather than show you everything.
If you're into slow burners with a layered, compelling story and genuinely unsettling vibes, check it out.
I think you'll enjoy it if/when you get to it brother! It kinda feels deceptively simple at first but really ramps up on a few aspects as it gets going.
Some mechanics could be more refined for sure but overall I'm having a blast, and this art style ๐
Ch7 now, definitely beating the game today.
Man I'm seriosuly enjoying REPLACED. Such a vibe.
Also I know a few folks who quit early over combat being basic. Lol it most certainly isn't. Might take a bit to get there but it's a lot deeper, more layered & chaotic than it initially looks.
The more I play REPLACED, the more atmospheric it gets.
These devs sure know how to tug at my gaming heart strings when it comes to audio and visuals.
Spent some hours with REPLACED last night.
Its simple design approach makes me wish more games chose that rather than overly overcomplicating things. Story's interesting, combat's fun & I wasn't expecting its quiet moments to remind me of Norco.
And goddamn is this game a mood!
Dude what a mood this game is ๐ฅ
Haha thanks brother!
Finally sat in front of the TV.
I've been waiting YEARS for this game ๐ญ
๐
And yeah it's a bit frustrating when it happens. Sadly I'm usually the dumbass that completely miscalculates and ends up doing exactly that ๐
Finished my nearly 30hr playthrough of Pacific Drive just before the release of one of my most anticipated games of the year. Love it when a plan comes together.
Gonna be all over this puppy tonight ๐ฅน
A survival driving game that I only started getting into once I got past actively hostile the learning curve. There's a ton to appreciate here, but those first hours are a hefty ask.
Definitely liked it though. Maybe not for everyone, but I can see it really clicking with some folks.
Excellent game imo. Super interesting narrative, really well-written characters and great art style.
Hope you enjoy brother!
After changing some settings and my approach to exploration, I'm finally getting the hang of the gameplay loop.
One thing's for sure, they've done an excellent job with atmosphere & customisation. There are tons of options that effectively change how your car handles the world.
Basically you're uncovering the reason why you got dropped in the zone and trying to find a way out, but yeah you have to go through areas where you create these 'extraction' points, that's what allows you to progress through the map.
Yeah it's starting to click for me now that I've changed some settings and adjusted my mindset, but it took longer than I would've liked.
I won't ever be a fan of heavy roguelite elements or procedural generation stuff in games, so the exploration loop in Pacific Drive hasn't been great for me.
But *everything* feels better once you start customising your puppy.
Not entirely sold on it yet since there's a bit of a steep learning curve, some obtuse UI and controls, and I'm still not sure about where they're going with the tone.
But I'm starting to enjoy this. So far it's a nice looking stylised world with a cool concept & gameplay loop.
