So it sounded like I was implying there was no difference and he was just pulling a swift one by saying it was a kids book. He understandably took offence, and launched into quite a strong, long defence of his kids books and all the differences between them. I was mortified!

It was at an event for the second Tiffany Aching book. I tried to ask him what was different about the writing process between the books aimed at children and the normal Discworld books. But I mangled the question due to nerves

Terry Pratchett took offence at a question I asked at a signing and called me a ‘so-called reader’
