How to cancel your insurance
Visit an Autoplan broker. Bring your licence plates, primary and secondary ID, and owner’s certificate (insurance and registration)
Tips: the sooner you cancel it, the more you may get back if you’re eligible for a refund. If you are using a rental vehicle, do not cancel your insurance until it is returned. A cancellation fee may apply.
What if I’m selling my car? Visit your broker as soon as possible. You may cancel your plates and insurance or transfer them to a new vehicle. Bring your plates and insurance papers
No longer need a car or leaving B.C.? 🚗 You can cancel your insurance at an Autoplan broker with:
✅ Your primary & secondary ID
✅ Licence plates
✅ Owner’s certificate
Tip: Cancel sooner to get more back if you’re eligible for a refund.

🚗💡 Shoulder checks matter!
Do a quick glance whenever you change direction or road position.
Check right before right turns, and always mirror + shoulder check before opening your door. Use them when pulling out, pulling over, changing lanes, and turning.

Hi, we don’t have plans to digitize driver’s licences. However, we’ll be looking at how it performs in other jurisdictions in the future. ^YC
When you visit an ICBC driver licencing office for your knowledge test you will be asked to create a keyword. Your keyword helps confirm your identity and protect your personal information.
Keep your ICBC keyword secure and never share it with anyone. 🔐
Online renewals will make services more accessible for people who may find it challenging to visit a driver licensing office in-person.
We’re modernizing ICBC services to make your experience simpler and more convenient. Subject to regulatory approvals, by spring 2027, you’ll be able to renew or replace your B.C. driver’s licence, BC Services Card and/or BC Identification Card (BCID) online.
