This is quite the excoriation.

"When the entire output line, across 3 decades, produces the same recognizable shape — aggrieved federalism, fossil-fuel exceptionalism, tax cuts as identity rather than policy, a running war on expertise... that is not a coincidence.

That is a curriculum."

Must-read.

"Taxes are not everything. They are not even the most important thing. What matters is what you get for them, what kind of institutions they sustain, and whether the government raising them is interested in building a province or dismantling a country."

Fighting words from the inimitable Dr. Tedds.

"I am not going to spend the last productive years of my working life watching this government fragment the national pension system into a provincial experiment run by the same ideological bench that gave us the firewall letter."

I don’t like what Dr. Lindsay M. Tedds says because it makes me angry and upset. But I appreciate the cut and thrust of her arguments, and there is much truth here.
Read this with patience and think long and hard. It’s not an easy read.

imagine I said those same words to a student in my own Uoc classroom. Not a student with a disability. Any student. “You need to learn to self-regulate your behaviour in this room. You can earn your way into inclusion here, but you can earn your way out of it too.” I would be fired within the week.

So in case you are interested WAGE cancelled their announcement of funding. Why? 🤷🏻‍♀️ is there a rescheduling? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Have I emailed the powers that be? Yes, yes I have. So very many powers. Has anyone responded now that we are 26 plus hours from scheduled announcement? No. Do women matter? To me

There has to be something fundamentally wrong with this. We are very generous, but not in this type of forum. Ever

Everyone everywhere can search a list and know if I gave during this drive, to reach goals for matching fundings. It is not what I consider to be about giving as I typically keep my giving private and very separate from my employment, for good reason

Of the millions raised each year as part of the annual Giving Day campaign, a significant amount of that cash comes in the form of donations from faculty and staff, employees intent on supporting those causes they care about most. From research to services to scholarship prizes, this is how support from UCalgary’s internal community quietly makes a difference in the quality of the work – and of the life – that unfolds at the University of Calgary.

I have thoughts

Not the least of which is that I give.

That matching funds and the race and honestly the public list make me

The 5 Most Specific Migraine Clues.

Knowing these can help guide treatment. Remember, these are the most specific, not sensitive (e.g. aura only occurs in 1/3 of migraine patients, but when it does, migraine is very likely).

This is a great read. I will add one more Harper issue—withdrawing stimulus too soon after the 2008 recession ensured the Bank of Canada had to keep rates lower for longer, which drove up consumer debt levels. Conservatives now complain those debt levels are too high (but blame Trudeau/Carney).
