Juvenile House Sparrow (Passer domesticus)
This little sparrow decided to perch a meter a half away from me, in a spot where the light hit just right to get a pitch black background. Needless to say, I'm very happy with the results.

a bowl of brown seaweed soup with vermicelli rice noodles and sesame seeds
made seaweed soup and winged everything because I had no idea what I was doing but it turned out really tasty. Miso and soy sauce do wonders for a good broth

Starlings! Common starlings are not very common over in Spain - spotless starlings take their role instead. Here in the UK they're everywhere all year round though, and a lot more curious and less skittish than they are at home.
