Adjusting just one setting in Crimson Desert on PC dramatically boosts frame-rate: www.digitalfoundry.net/news/2026/03...

Crimson Desert on PC is a weird one technically in some respects. Doesn't behave like other big open world titles we've seen, with some odd issues here and there. But overall it's a solid performer with the right settings. Rich has all the answers:
Crimson Desert PC review and optimised settings! With Alex looking after this back this week, I step in with thoughts on the PC port along with settings selections from @iamRayy_ and... Pearl Abyss: youtu.be/BDb5JfcArmc
I think this video does a good job explaining the viewpoints of the team but I wanted to make sure it was clear that I wasn't feeling up to participate yet thus not in the video. I will share my own thoughts soon but my opinions largely mirror what Alex says in this video! Check it out...
Finally, someone gets it.
Ok, they’ve done. The Pulsar lineup of monitors have been updated and a new ULMB mode has been added with variable pulse width. This is the first LCD I’ve ever loved now. The motion clarity at 60hz is CRT perfect. It’s incredible. Now it’s great for modern and retro games alike. A game changer.
This was honestly shocking to me... What the hell?!??
100% in agreement with you there.
Yeah, I’m with you there, John. I wouldn’t even touch games like this with a ten-foot pole. I’ve just started playing Shenmue I for the first time, and I’m absolutely loving it. If they keep pumping out MP, survival slops like this, I’ll stick to retro games.
Latest episode is out! Would be so happy if ya’ll give it a listen!
Post a game you remember playing that nobody else remembers
Uncharted 4 turns 10 this year, along with the PS4 Pro. Make of that what you will. Personally, I’m choosing to believe 2016 was fairly recent.
This video took a while to make but it’s finally out! A lot of the capture work for Part 2 is complete as well. I’ll finish that after the holiday! Enjoy.
Finally! And it’s already looking great.
My Dying Light: The Beast video -- I break down PS5-equivalent settings, replicate them on PC to show notable performance gains vs Max settings, plus extended direct FPS comparison with PS5's unlocked Performance mode frame-rate.

Dying Light: The Beast's unlocked FPS in the 120Hz VRR Perf mode on PS5 helps give this direct comparison vs PC. In this scene, where the PS5 renders at 1080p, an RTX 3070 using PS5 settings at 1080p is roughly 45% faster. Not a new revelation, of course, just another data point.
How do you navigate the settings menu in Battlefield 6 to make the game run and look its best for multiplayer? With @iamrayy-0.bsky.social's help, we make optimised settings to get you on your way. I also talk about bugs and BF6's unambitious graphical presentation. Enjoy!

Battlefield 6 on PC delivers exceptional scalability -- and with fine-tuned optimised settings, there’s substantial performance gains to be had with virtually no loss in visual quality. We also look at how it compares to the graphics settings found in both modes of the PS5.
Two days late to the news, but there it is — the gold master 📀 of #DeathStranding2. We don’t see gold masters much anymore, not like we did back in the PS4 or PS3 era.
Omg, one of my favourite PS1 games!
How does the new Assassin's Creed Shadows run on Low spec PC GPUs and CPUs? How is the PC user experience? Smooth or with issues? Why do cutscenes look so choppy? All that and much more in my PC review featuring optimised settings with help from

Correction: it's being ported by both Iron Galaxy and Nixxes. Interesting.
Using Special-K to cap the frame-rate fixed those spikes for me.
Tutorial level is very much GPU bound. The bottleneck shifts to towards CPU once you enter Vatican with Full RT on. It's super heavy on CPU. I imagine non-X3D Zen 3 for e.g. will likely see dips well below 60fps, even though GPUs like the 4070 and up would be capable of more.
That's a generational leap.
Nixxes is handling the TLOU Part II PC port. Nice.
Iron Galaxy were the ones to handle prior Naughty Dog ports including TLOU Part I, IIRC.
Thread divergence during constant buffer reads can have a big perf impact, this presentation discusses how to detect this on NVidia GPUs using GPU Trace and Shader profiler. Also shows how useful access to ISA is for understanding what the shader does under the hood. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSsP...
