Because some comments make me think people missed the PSAs I do semi-regularly: if you were born before 1987, you should get a MMR booster now. The second childhood dose of MMR wasn't added until 1989, and folks who were older than 2 (the age for the 2nd) may not have gotten it.

I'm not able to reply to the post but someone tagged me in it. Pigeons will reuse old nests and build on top of them, and this is probably what's happening here, considering the nest has 3 eggs and pigeons only lay 2 at a time! Also, pigeons will build larger nests as they get closer to baby time.

I think the greatest trick for getting good at creative work i know is - finish making as many mediocre things as possible. Just finish stuff, again and again. Share it or don’t, but put a bow on it, put it aside, make the next thing, repeat.

I always say no. Those things don't work and make up weird crap instead of actually writing down what was said. The idea of dealing with that on top of the normal mistakes a human makes is just nightmarish to me.

Its not a hot take but man the way the word "content" is used these days. A vile bit of late stage capitalist propaganda, lumping all forms of human creativity and expression into a single wastebin teaching the public to treat all art as disposable.

The way profit maxxing corpo culture has invaded every form of art through algorithms pushing people into daily posting is really weighing on me lately. Efficiency and regularity of making "content" being prized above all else feels so grim, man.

Today I am thinking about Dark Sheik. And Nyla Rose. And Sonny Kiss. And Edith Surreal. And Kidd Bandit. And all people brave enough to be themselves in an industry that, more than not, is still hostile to them, in a world actively hostile to them. A level of strength so strong it becomes contagious
