The part about Mamdani not being always correct is important. Because he's gonna fuck up and make mistakes (like with the library budget thing) and we rightfully need to hold his feet to the fire for that.

But like. This is socialism. We want this for everyone.

i respect season 2 of the pitt for saying "ignoring your depression & trauma doesn't make you the sympathetic hero, it makes you a problem in the fucking workplace"

Happy National Library Week! This week you should:
1) Donate $ to your local Friends of the Library

2) Write to your public library director to thank them for standing up for diversity or to condemn them for caving to fascists

3) Plan a similar public comment for the next library board mtg

For some reason I thought it was gonna be alright. But I hadn’t seen the trailers and only went in having liked The Village lol. So my rage was so deep.

A fifteen drawer card catalog with some drawers pulled out and Library of Congress literature in the drawers and on top.

It is National Library Week and the Library of Congress has done a cute nationwide thing with old card catalogs highlighting a lot of their core programs. I'm partial to their "Free to Use and Reuse Sets" but I'm sure we've all got our faves. 📚

I really can’t get over this Guardian article that referred to Trudeau as a “relatively young man” in the same paragraph they mention he’s 54 when I just finished this season of bridgerton where the stepmom is ten years older than the daughters and 1 year older than their love interest.
