(TCL doesn’t have the best reputation)
there are some really interesting paper-style display communicators out there right now. like the TCL 60 Nxtpaper. i’ve never used one tho. Not enough reviews or trust signals to give it a shot yet.

yes! interesting product. i need first-party Signal, iMessage, and app support tho. i don’t need a SMS device so much as i need a communicator, preferably in the Apple ecosystem. i’m considering a Boox Palma Pro or an XTEINK4, but i’d prefer an iPhone Pro with a color paper-style display

Something that a lot of people don’t understand about R&D: You want to share the break through with some research insight, so that the conversation is centered around the frame of the job or problem. If you share prematurely, you’ll get a lot of noise around technical rigor & over engineering.
The stories our brains tell about other people run all day long — without our permission.
A member once thought a colleague was disengaged. Turns out they were just quiet. Another thought someone was difficult — until that person became one of their closest collaborators. This week's conversation was a reminder that the story we hold about someone is rarely the whole story.
spec-driven development was always an endgame for software dev. we more or less have it now. and now we have a lot of people who are interested in learning design research and user experience methods. what a world
allgoose has a ring to it
if you made this an ai e-ink thing you might be able to start a startup worth one trillion dollars
they were there first tho (‘96). i bet it’s a heckuva conversation starter
sometimes i wonder how the fine people at palantir.net feel about explaining that oh, we’re not THAT palantir

what is a metalogue? well, isn’t that a funny question…
would be fun to be able to label posts or replies on here as metalogues…
(first thought was something like, “why would i want to peel a vegetable! and bread? why would i eat bread i can’t tear apart with my fingers! potatoes? i dice them up for stew, and scoop or lop off the eyes!” but really i cook with rice, noodles, onions, tomatoes, spices, peppers, proteins..)
Funny how where we are and what we cook shapes our perspective on the qualities we believe the one true kitchen blade must possess
andy ricker recommended the Kiwi 21, and for an inexpensive, durable do-it-all blade i can’t recommend it enough. The Kiwi is a good fallback when doing gnarly work i don’t want to put more sensitive blades through, and cheap enough to buy and leave at e.g. temporary housing or up to camp
ah, such fun sifting through this. thanks for sharing!
there will be more work in the future i’m sure.
… oh and awaiting the hardcover in the mail with much anticipation. have been talking about this book with friends for some time. i have a feeling i’m going to be a repeat customer :D
Reading the ebook now. Smiled when i saw that. Thank you for putting this work into the world! i can’t wait to see what happens next 🌀🌱

(picked up a lot through symbiosis.. the web standards movement was big when i was coming up, and so many ux, ia, content strategy, accessibility, etc. i was able to lurk as folks built really cool community on twitter. before it started getting bad in ~2014)
