I suppose it's easier to assume that people on the left in the countryside have just never bothered engaging with their friends/neighbours/family/local orgs than admitting that these protests have a well developed and generational worldview that leans right wing

ICTU have got this bang on. They’re “ordinary decent people” when they’re farmers and small business owners. Everyone else is rabble if they protest.

Two things can be true at the same time: grievances can be real and people struggling, but their protests and the allies they choose completely wrong. And the double standards the state and media applies to them also obvious. The next time there's a strike, see how far you get blocking O'Connell St

The TD should be named.

All who gave references should be named.

Anyone giving references for sex offenders should forfeit the right to stand for election to any position of authority.

Why would anyone be shocked that they're still blockading. Government just capitulated to two of the heaviest subsidised industries to the tune of .5 billion. They paid the hostages ransom and didn't even get the hostage.

The 'movement' supposedly tryin to ensure that hauliers have affordable access to fuel, is reportedly doing targetted harrassment of the families of drivers trying to deliver fuel.
None of this makes sense as protest. It makes entire sense as an extremist attack on our infrastructure.

Hospitality got around €700m through VAT cuts, which is supposed to be government revenue generated by end user, but instead it benefits rich corporations.

This tax cut will simply end up in the hands of oil producers.

Any other rich self interest groups need some going out money?

Ask yourself this Easter whether Jesus was a lunatic, liar or Lord? Following Christ isn’t easy, it makes demands that the world does not make, but it also offers something that the world cannot: peace

“Sell all that you have … and come follow me.”
Saint Maria, who shows no sign of parting with the Holy Handbag, quotes Jesus, in whom she professes to believe.
