I think the industry is realizing this. Where they’ve really done more development in packaging skills instead of just those language models like with Claude you can build out a skill set document for specific type of coding or writing.

Stack Overflow and GitHub, yep. Human code is rarely 100% all that 1 person. Lots of copy paste and tweaks. The difference is AI is running probability on all the code it puts in. Each time you ask the same question you’re gonna get something different instead of the same exact code.

I have not seen a study on this. It would be interesting though. There’s a lot of layers to it. But looking at simple to complex is where I think the risk goes up for AI generated code to be worse. In part because it might function but there are weaknesses in it.

I can’t imagine using it on code that directly holds people’s data and financial information. I am too paranoid for that.

I had a really smart person say something once about AI; they see AI’s usefulness similar to people‘s ability to search online well determines how useful Google is.

Can AI produce useful things, yes. Always, no. Who is involved is huge impact.
