Whoa. The anthology “RARE” that features my short story “Lost in Form” is now an award winning one! That’s so rad.

If you have to maneuver your body around on it like a seal to reach the middle then what’s the point

Twin Peaks rewrote my brain chemistry and to this day I have never found anything that hits quite the same. RIP David Lynch

I love cycling in The Netherlands, where I live now, but in Japan I could bring a bicycle on a ferry and ride it around random islands. And I miss that also. (Yeah I am reflecting a lot these days…)

At least the UK and Ireland still seem to care about character actors! (Last I checked anyway)

I miss the places in Japan where I felt truly welcome, like at this local, musician-led jazz bar in Fukuoka called Backstage. Being there always felt like coming home.

Yanagawa, about an hour or so from Fukuoka, features charming canals and specializes in river eel. Stayed here for a day (which is about all you need) and enjoyed its laid back vibe.

This temple next to where I lived in Fukuoka was one of my favorites. Dates back to 800 or something crazy like that although it was rebuilt along the way. There’s a really cool old tree on the grounds as well. This was taken during the new year celebrations.

Saw this awesome road stop on the same trip. Had a bunch of Shochu (Kyushu’s preferred hard liquor made from sweet potato) barrels stored in this long tunnel, a remnant of WWII if I’m not mistaken. #myphotos #japan #kyushutravel

Takachiho Gorge on Miyazaki prefecture. Went with a Japanese friend of mine who had a car and made this trip so much easier because of it. Got to see a lot of cool spots on the way - made me wish I had gotten my Japanese license but to convert my US one was quite the process #japan #potd

I dunno what this type of architecture is called but this is the city hall of Fukuoka and I had my Japanese lessons on the third floor of this place. Loved coming here. It was always gorgeous in the autumn and they always had events and other things happening on the adjacent lawn. #myphotos #japan

Next, the wedded rocks and the white Torii gate in the ocean located in Itoshima, about an hour or so from Fukuoka, Japan. It was my favorite place to go on the weekends when I lived in Fukuoka. Gorgeous coastline.

First up, my favorite statue in the world (that might technically also be a building I forgot): the Tower of the Sun designed by Tarō Okamoto and located outside of Osaka, Japan. Photo by yours truly.

Just gonna start dropping some of my favorite photos I took while living abroad so that people don’t just think my posts are me thirsting over fictional video game characters.

Thinking about the shell grotto I visited in Margate, Kent that’s decorated with a million shells and has a circle cutout that aligns perfectly with the summer solstice. People have always been fascinating
