Me looking up what a developmental editor is…so many parts of this job and the resources needed to make it bearable go unsaid. I definitely understand the struggle of finding out after the fact!

It might be field specific? My field does ask for citation numbers for major evaluations (e.g, mid tenure review) or for promotion. It is still an odd number to try to look up.
