Today we watched U.S. Senator Alex Padilla slammed to the pavement and cuffed for simply exercising his constitutional right. If that doesn’t ignite your anger, your outrage, your utter disgust at the direction this country is barreling toward, what will?

This isn’t about the Army’s 250th anniversary. It isn’t about Flag Day. It’s a grotesque vanity spectacle for a wannabe strongman, and it reeks of the authoritarian rot seeping into our institutions.

If you can’t see the raging red flag in blowing $25–$45 million of our tax dollars on a bombastic military parade, straight out of the North Korean or Russian dictatorship playbook, while threatening violence against anyone who dares to protest, you’re willfully, catastrophically delusional.
