People are suffering, maimed, and even killed by the slow arc of prior authorization and insurance hell. This coupled with the anti-opioid hysteria harming chronic pain patients, it can be demoralizing.

It's wild how "they're gonna let treatable people die to cut costs" was an argument against universal healthcare and now we have *no* universal healthcare *plus* the "death panels" they fearmongered about

Don’t use rideshare. Or you’ll end up assaulted, left with medical expenses, and trauma. In CA they will have a ballot initiative capping their responsibility for medical expenses when rideshare drivers get into car crashes. Evil stuff folks.

And not for nothing, but due to the preferable priority on pedestrian and bike safety in Europe, the cars are designed for city life. And de-prioritize highway safety. Which is fine in city living but not safe in LA, Chicago, most US cities due to insane freeway systems.

The Chinese EVs also have serious safety issues, so maybe not a direct comparison?

The fact that Karen Bass dropped her “climate plan” for Los Angeles days before she reaffirmed her commitment to killing local transit oriented development is a sick joke.

This needs to be treated as the crisis it is. Traffic violence can be curbed, if only we have the will to do it.

I read the story & am just confused as to what the issue is, other than the passport gender & Global Entry gender marker being different. If the passport picture essentially matches the person in front, what’s the problem? Seems she’s exaggerating that she can’t possibly travel.

Series 10, no cellular. That thing doesn’t even drain enough battery to do a full charge on night 1. Maybe the estimate is 18 hours of use. Because I have routinely gone 3 days without charging it. First two times were long weekend trips & I forgot the charger.

Are you crazy? The Apple Watch goes days without being charged, allows me to see and respond to quick texts, stay on track with my calendar, and pay for things without digging through my purse. The transit pay feature on the watch is seamless and incredible.

The whisper network that caught up to Eric Swalwell Warnings about the lawmaker had long circulated privately. Then a handful of women and online creators pushed them into public view, forcing California’s political establishment to reckon with how far he got.

At a fundamental level, until the state and Feds acknowledge that many, many people need full time institutional support, progress won’t be made on the most visible, anti-social elements of street homelessness.

I’d really love it if the train of so-called feminist men would do a little less talking and a little more action. The word about Swallwell and women issues has been out there and credible since at least 2018. It was just more politically expedient to support him…until today? Come on

Crazy how people defend this garbage. Tall hoods have zero practical purpose. They only serve attempts to intimidate others on the road. Some people, even on this website think having a mean looking vehicle is more important than the safety of children.

U.S. Forest Service unveils extensive closures of research facilities Cost-cutting move is expected to cause resignations and turmoil

What will happen to the 82 USFS experimental forests around the country? Many sites have decades-long experiments that are tracking how forests are changed by timber harvesting practices and climate change. As I say here, “you can't just pick up an experimental forest site and move it to SLC.”

Also, looks like Tucson doesn’t have as robust of a public meeting/education set up as Phoenix for their budget, but upcoming hearing info can be found here. Encourage you to attend www.tucsonaz.gov/Departments/...

It does. Have you not heard of the Highway Trust Fund? It is incredibly underfunded, because the externalities of millions of miles of road are not covered by the fees you list. I encourage you to attend public budget hearings to learn more.

Now that's a "San Diego Special" @voiceofsandiego.org

- Pedestrianized for the pandemic by volunteers w/ temp barriers
- City pays for steel bollards and receptacles
- But doesn't pay enough for automatic retractable bollards
- 5th ave is cancelled bc they afford to operate the manual bollards 🤦‍♂️
