With hesitation, he glanced up and spotted a person approaching his aisle, excited to buy the new rabbit toy.

This window wasn't glass, but more plastic. The rabbit patted down the window, shocked to even find it. Seemed no matter what he could do, he was trapped. The rabbit leaned on the plastic window trying to break free only to feel the ground shake as something approached.

Stephan sat there massaging his wrists and ankles from the pain caused by his binds. Looking up in front of him, he witnessed the massive expanse of a toy store too big for any person. Stepping forward to get a better view, Stephan unknowingly collided with a window.

The rabbit investigated and noticed his arms and legs were bound to the cardboard with plastic ties. He panicked, flailing and screaming until one arm snapped free. Using his newly liberated appendage, he cut the remaining ties and fell to the cardboard floor below him.

After a calm night's rest, Stephan awoke, not in his bed, but on a sheet of cardboard. The discomfort from his place of rest gave him the will to get out of bed more hastily than usual, but he soon realized his limbs weren't moving and this wasn't home.

The concept of being able constantly see the restless spirts roam our world has a downside/upside I never considered. Spirits would most likely be naked constantly. What if they are sexual deviants? Trying to enjoy your coffee while ancient spirts fuck in the cafe unseen from those lacking power.

Going to a mall in 2026 has made me miss pre covid society more than anything. Its less crowded and every ad and art/shirt vendor has me standing there trying to figure out if its A.I. or not.
