Ah, with family I meant my partner and the kids. Adult autistic conversations are where it's at 😄 I want friends who pebble and info dump.

I don't know about you but I don't find that I miss it, the social capacity I have is limited and I want spend it wisely.

I have no choice on spending it at work, but I want to keep the rest for my family.

I'm not looking to never talk to neurotypicals, but the world is your safe space.

I want a safe space where I can be myself, so I will prioritise making friends within my neurotype because it's easier. 4/n

This is the opposite of regular interactions that tire me out, for years I've thought of myself as an introvert. 3/n

If you're part of the neurotypical majority, I imagine that you don't spend your days like this.

Being around people who think like me (neurotype) is like a balm, it enables me to put down my mask and ACTUALLY ENGAGE in a way and a style that's honest to me. 2/n

Making friends within a neurotype, some thoughts.

Every day, I have to police my thoughts, actions, and emotions in order to fit in.

If I don't, I have to spend more time explaining my motivation or apologising for being myself.

It was unexpected but I wasn't surprised when they said it. The shortage of ADHD meds has been ongoing for years now.

I'll find out what meds they're offering in 6 months time, they couldn't tell me in the initial assessment as they weren't allowed to do so.

Hoping for slow release!

What do I do with author's work that I can no longer tolerate? I can no longer read work by them, but to throw away books is horrendous, selling them is profiting from them, giving them to charity is promoting them, and keeping them feels like a weird red flag shrine.*
