Let's talk about LWBS = Left Without Being Seen

Look at the graphs - anyone can immediately see the trend.

Post pandemic it just keeps getting worse. Let's break this down as everyone should care as it will impact you or a loved one at some point 🧵 :

This picture of Jedi and a tiny female zebra jumping spider is one of my recent favourites.

The spider did a little threat display - they stand tall and put their abdomen up - when Jedi moved, then settled and tried to hide under her leg.

Social media is certainly full of PRATTs.

Thanks. Tons more to be said on this and I didn’t say anything new or controversial, I just don’t think people necessarily understand how complex the issue can be.

Thanks. Wasn’t anything terribly controversial but I think it’s important people understand that it’s not the fault of those people coming in with lower acuity issues that the emergency department is full.

Be skeptical of the news about acetaminophen & autism. Here is a structured critical review of a recent systematic review on the topic.

I’m sad I can’t make it this year. Maybe you should come to Incrementum in Spain in April. Looks like it’ll be a lot of fun…

My next tattoo is about emergency medicine and involves a lighthouse because of this description.

In our three sisters garden, the beans have decided to tie everything together. Here is one of the purple pole beans that grew about 60cm over to gently grab one of the pumpkin leaves.

Rhys is doing the most little brother thing ever and chasing Charlie and Maisie around with a huge beetle he found in the garden.

It’s hot. Our heat pump (which does the A/C) is still pooched despite a second board being replaced.

While complaining of being hot and sticky, we had to decide what to do with a bunch of lemons.

Briefly considered pie, curd, bars.

Nah. I put the kids to work juicing. Perfect lemonade.

Same. I love how the videos are just interesting and pleasant to watch and there’s no dramatic internet screaming and over exaggerated reactions.

Happy Birthday, Rosalind Franklin. She captured an X-ray diffraction image of DNA and stated that a helical structure was probable. Watson and Crick then created a detailed model based on her results. They initially received credit for the discovery and were awarded the Nobel Prize after her death.🧪

It’s impressive what plants can do with a handful of dirt.

Future lemon cucumbers. They’re just what they sound like - cucumbers that look like lemons.

Maisie picked this variety and she’s very excited to eat them.

I love how baby crows sound like a person pretending to be a crow. It sounds like they are actually saying “caw”

Rhys asked me to come to the living room because he made “a talking place where all the people talk about important things like how to get better when you’re sick.”

My kids are playing medical conference.

He said Batman is next up to speak.

Noticed that too.

Im speaking to the use of the term on social media, and I was describing how paternalistic traditions define women’s worth.

I cook and clean and mend and preserve like my grandmothers did, though am fortunate to have had opportunities that were denied to them.

I ate so many I’m a bit sick of them haha. My trees were very productive and I still have more sour cherries to pick!

The “tradwife” label as it is used generally on social media is heavily tied in with paternalistic traditions, typically religious, which define a woman’s value by her adherence to ‘traditional’ roles and behaviour expectations.

Shocking, eh? 🙃

I once had someone make some snide comment about how a man must be paying for it all - alluding to child support. And I laughed my ass off because I’ve never received a dime from my ex-husband, who is in jail, and I was the primary financial contributor for most of the marriage.

Cherry Almond Buckle Recipe - Sally's Baking Addiction This cherry almond buckle combines a soft and buttery cake with plenty of fresh, sweet cherries and a hint of delicious almond.

sallysbakingaddiction.com/cherry-almon...

Very easy and delicious. I used dark sweet cherries instead of the sour cherries from my tree, as that’s what the recipe calls for, but I suspect it’d have been really nice with sour cherries and some lemon zest.
