Still a week left to apply for the advertised post-doc position on our @leverhulme.ac.uk-funded project Weaponised Pasts! We are looking for an early career researcher with experience in experimental design, programming and statistical analysis.
This project marks a collaboration between @uni-of-edinburgh.bsky.social @hcaatedinburgh.bsky.social and the University of Trento, and we are especially thankful to our funder @leverhulme.ac.uk
We will examine the spread of this heritage-based hostility using a mixture of real-world social media data and lab experiments, representing the first investigation into this topic that combines public archaeology, cultural evolution and psychological theory.
This novel, interdisciplinary project will investigate how interpretations of the past are routinely weaponised online to frame others as enemies, undermining democratic discourse and promoting offline violence.
