There are about 457 wrestling shows in Vegas this week.

Don Muraco is also in Vegas this week.

I know he’s very retired, but if someone doesn’t book him to at least hit the taped thumb spot, it’s an opportunity lost.

Shout out to the LuchaDough gourmet donut shop here in Miami.

Muraco not being a part of WM1 will always feel like such a big miss, to me.

Rose’s explanation was always that George Scott didn’t want him to lose as “Buddy Rose.”

Which I guess tracks, because he had been working as Buddy Rose in the WWF prior to that, and allegedly, had been considered for a bigger spot before things went sour.

Laughed at the pre-taped interview with Mike Rotunda & Barry Windham.

Both standing there in jeans and polo shirts. Street clothes, if you will.

Windham: “We’re on our way to the ring right now.” No. No, you’re not.

Rewatching WrestleMania 1. In hindsight, they really over-relied on “unknowns” back then.

Like why was Brutus Beefcake from “Parts Unknown?” The Executioner was “weight unknown.”

Comes across like the WWF in 1985, in kayfabe, just had a really shitty research department.

New on YouTube: One of the rarest photos of Roddy Piper you’ll see anywhere.

A fan-shot photo from Piper’s unaired, infamous 1979 debut at Madison Square Garden, with comparisons to other photos on social media that are mislabeled as his debut: youtu.be/5OdUctVMnyc?...

They’re great, but I was a bigger fan of the original Chic (Ed Farhat).

Whenever I see Chic Donovan's name in print, I am tempted to pronounce it "sheek," like the disco group.

But then would Ric Flair be Reek?

Fun for all ages!

Also - on the introductions, Lord Alfred Hayes may have been winging it.

Never introduced Jimmy Hart or Bob Orton, and announced Orndorff as being from Atlanta instead of Tampa.

That’s awesome!

Lost track of the number of times I’ve been told “nobody really knows that person” as a rejection to a historical pitch. And I’m like “yeah… which is why we should write it.” 🤷‍♂️

Every time someone tells me there’s no audience for historical content, I assume that person lacks the courage to give their own audience credit for being intellectually curious.

Documentaries do well. No reason well-written histories can’t do the same.

A Mattel action figure of Bobby Heenan is shown in package with two pointing fingers, positioned in a way that makes it look like an insulting gesture at first glance.

A Mattel action figure of Bobby Heenan is shown in package with two pointing fingers, positioned in a way that makes it look like an insulting gesture at first glance.

I’d like to think someone at Mattel positioned these hands in a slightly deceptive way because they understood Bobby Heenan’s sense of humor.

I saw a guy leave Subway with just a bottle of Pepsi today, and now I've got "Institutionalized" stuck in my head.

Among Johnny Legend's many wrestling credits:

- He was an Olympic Auditorium regular.
- He was the man behind Fred Blassie's "Pencil Neck Geek" record.
- He produced the Andy Kaufman classic "My Breakfast With Blassie," after which his sister, Lynne, became Andy's girlfriend.

I'm still upset about Chili's removing original chicken crispers from its menu, so I can relate to this.
