whomst among us can't relate to this, I ask you. also maybe if you're reading i will finally get to it?? 👀
v excited for you. my partner played it trying to do zero guessing, only meticulously searching everything over and over for clues, so all I can really say is I'd recommend NOT doing that. Also hat shapes are probably a clue as well, I wonder if I'd guess better now I know more about ship hats

front cover art for Knock's folklore bestiary, OSR version. it shows a trio of adventurers facing a tentacled monster which coils around the edges of the frame, bristling with eyes and pincers. the adventurers - a hooded rogue, a burly knight, and a short, haunted-looking wizard all group togehter, looking daunted.
ink drawing of a figure stabbed through the back by a sword. the sword is in red ink, the figure in black. the figure has a wizened, anguised face, and wears a shaggy cape and hood made from ragged reeds. they have long-nailed hands moving as if to clutch at the blade run through them.
An illustrated map, bisecting several interwoven grass basket buildings clinging to the side of a tree. Small animals like rodents, shrews and hedgehogs bustle around a busy market and show ground, while larger animals like birds peer in through skylights above. Smaller floral chambers are attached to the main hall, overflowing with wild flowers and each occupied by a colourful pageant competing butterfly.
a page of black and white illustrations showing multiple artefacts and depictions of tombs and burials of many kinds, including a bog body, terracotta warriors, an air burial and an ossuary.

great episode, really well-expressed discussion about this ban at the start, but also on writing, victorian poets, gender, and art that's genuinely liberatory
Graphic with a purple background. It has pink blue and white stars in the bottom left and top right corner. enthusiastically liking this comment but also not taking any feedback on whether I have or haven't managed to apply it to my own work in the past, thanks
A drawing of a small house with a leaf for a roof in a meadow. There are dandelions, clover, ribwort plantain and speedwell growing among the grass.
When I put this on tumblr a few years ago, someone complimented me on the accurately drawn plantain (the weed not the banana) and thb I'm still riding that high
this week I'm inking the pages I mentioned: the most bad health day / PEM crash part of this current graphic novel.... while in a crash after my spring vaccine & wall painting on saturday.
You'd think it'd add verisimilitude, but actually just means I'm going enormously slowly with 100 breaks
unless...
photo of my hallway with the top half of the walls painted in yellow and ochre stripes, wiggly and imperfect
absolutely shattered now, but honestly think it turned out nice and exactly how I wanted
My big dream is dark green woodwork and lower half of the wall with big squares drawn on so it looks a bit like panelling. (Which would be phase 2 in a few months or so). Sort of channelling horrible Victorian wallpaper/ panelling colour schemes, which I love
I’m mostly used to doing VERY neat shapes on wall painting, so it’s vaguely terrifying. Excited to live with my mistakes
I’m on a ‘lying collapsed’ break rn if you can’t tell.
Hardest part is the delicate balance between ‘wobbly enough to look hand drawn’ but still nice. I am carefully dealing with this by freehanding straight onto the wall
A photo of like grey purple painting from a pickle jar poured into expensive yellow
Pics I took earlier: Pouring leftover purple directly into the expensive yellow as my partner looks on horrified
Very yellow stripe swatches painted on my wall
Chronic illness scheduling obv means I did the swatches months ago and taping weeks ago, and now Im doing like. 20 mins painting / 20 minutes collapsed for a couple hours before i have to stop for the day and lie motionless for many hours. Anyway it’s going to be lower contrast but Very Yellow
Screenshot of Wallpaper called ‘artists stripe’ with wobbly stripes that is almost £200 PER ROLL
Last year I saw this wildly expensive wallpaper and thought, that’s ridiculous, if I wanted that I could do it myself. Anyway guess what I’m attempting this weekend
this was maybe the best event last year, this year looks ot be even better! time to get your applications in!
I love all your Realis illustrations SO much!!!
Forest study! I'm in love with how dense the underbrush is in the pacific northwest, and I want to be able to draw it so bad

a mirror selfie of a nonbinary trans guy, white w blue hair and glasses, wearing colourful stripy trousers and a black shirt that says trans people will always exist
a graphic that reads: hello, I make LGBT+ romance - mostly comics and graphic novels' then the covers of I Shall never fall in love, finding home, and 'a true gentleman, coming soon'. The next line reads: 'and illustrated gamebooks - sometimes both at the same time', with the covers of into the dungeon, into the tower, and night at the vampire castle, all by hari conner
Happy #TransDayofVisibility, here's a selfie of me looking tired but still surviving this morning 🌞 plus my books, most of which have trans, GNC and/or nonbinary leads.
If YOU 🫵 are also trans, I'm sending you love and strength in these grim times, you're not alone
The 2026 Sequential Scotland poster. It shows a forest landscape emerging from a book with people making, sharing and reading comics across the artwork.
So excited to reveal to everyone the absolutely incredible 2026 poster created by @mortiscausa.bsky.social 😍
We can't wait to welcome you all back to the DoubleTree this August to celebrate everything sequential and small press!
Review of The Dawnhounds (The Endsong, #1) by Sascha Stronach DELICIOUS, very queer, truly reminded me how much I LOVE weird SFF!!!!!! Waiting for my libro fm credits to come in to go straight onto the second. Best I can explain the slightly messy plot is there’s this woman, Yat, who’s a failure and a cop and sort of dead, figuring out how to access living energy and a conspiracy in a grimy biotech neo-noir Māori- (and Asian-) inspired, gods and myths, sci fi fantasy world. There’s a big political web, real-feeling trans characters, and bizarre, gruesome body-horrory descriptions of stuff like people’s failed bio grafts thrown into the mix, which i absolutely loved. The rich-poor divide, corrupt cops and the illegal-but-openness of gay bars, drugs, bribes and body mods all feel extremely believable - just great power dynamics and a really rich biopunk-y world. Also queer pirates. And a MC realising she’s part of a horrifying system, which I always love.
It feels like the author has a clear-eyed view of the brutal and often-farsical injustices in an increasingly fascist world, which is folded into the fiction - but the story is primarily having incredible fun mashing together truly exciting and strange SFF ideas. Tamsyn Muir (author of Gideon the Ninth) blurbed the book which I think is a good comp, in that I didn't fully understand what was happening sometimes, but found it massively entertaining to read, and bits of the world gradually come together. And also in that it’s an exuberant (kiwi) genresmash SFF with lots of murders and lesbians. If you’re someone who wants your fantasy worldbuilding to be easily-recognisable, european and make perfect logically-explained sense right away, this is not that. But I find what this book does WAY more interesting than fantasy that feels corporate-approved and competently but boringly executed. Also the fanatical anti-lgbt religious cult who wear bird masks get colloquially called bin chickens (yes I have family in Australia). And there are mushroom houses that I think feed off dead skin cells and can die when empty. ALSO BULLETS ARE BUGS!!!!!!!! (Audio performance by Anna Coddington, which I really loved)
I LOVE WEIRD FANTASY!!!!!!! devouring this book whole!!!!

Seeing "trans kids given deadline to segregate themselves" and "trans women banned from yet another part of society" headlines *every single day* while everyone you know and every organization stays breathtakingly silent takes such a damn toll on your heart.
