Lovely evening at Birmingham Symphony Hall last night for The Transatlantic Sessions. The band were supurb, as usual - great musicianship and humour. Guests were Kathy Mattea, Darrell Scott, Karine Polwart and Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh.

For my data-comms colleagues
Yes, quite a problem across all sectors. I'm in the MPEG group looking at ways to compile (and then utilise) metadata for authentication and provenance of images, audio and video. This can tag such violations, but only if users are aware of checking the media and data. Its a work in progress ...

Wonderful night of zany songs and sketches from Alex Horne and The Horne Section at Warwick Arts Centre
RIP Gilson Lavis.
Very sad news - I saw Gilson many times with Jools' band - always a great performer.

What a day's cricket! What a match! What an atmosphere, and what a way to get out at the end!
In the end I actually felt sorry for Siraj.
Old Trafford next week ....

Yes. Mostly in favour - great for preventative care and personalised medicine. But I suspect the privacy is a main concern, especially when insurance companies buy into the data and determine your prsonalised premium, or even an "uninsurable" status. It's a two-edged pee-stick.
Very sad news.

I wonder how it performs in other medical applications
Lovely night at the gorgeous Chipping Norton Theatre, a tiny (~150 seats) venue. Jon Boden's Remnant Kings played an evening of parlour ballads and broadsides. They're a six piece band including Sam Sweeney and M G Boulter. Excellent musicianship and a great performance.
The Boogie Woogie (and many other styles) was well purveyed by The Jools Holland Band last night at Warwick Arts Centre, and included Chris Difford. Ed Richardson was on drums following Gilson Lavis' retirement, and took on the role excellently.
Hannah White supported and was very impressive.
Oh, I say. That was a nasty gesture from Elon.
America did not split the atom first. And if it's too cold to have your inauguration outside, I suggest you review the Greenland invasion, and Canada too.
