To much racing has created a diluted system. There is a civil war between the Jockey Club who own all the big racecourses (Kempton, Cheltenham, Aintree etc) and Reuben Brothers owned Arena Racing who own the smaller ones (Uttoxeter, Wolves, Newcastle etc).

In the UK and Ireland jockeys do not do ok. Jockeys are not well paid or well looked after by comparison to its overseas rivals (Australia, America, Middle East and Hong Kong).

Its a huge industry, bigger in revenue than the Premier League, but it hoards it at the very top and away from racecourses
