For months I sat at a desk, late into the night, building a modular music system. I've recorded the first music from it. Up now on Bandcamp. timexile.bandcamp.com/album/fast-l...

New machines coming, but new music first. In Fast Landscape Slow Water I escape a lonely glaring lamp into a shifting mesh of patterns, shapes and tones. timexile.bandcamp.com/album/fast-l...

There's gonna be so much dub techno played in elderly care homes in 30 years time

Do you have something like fathom that tells you the top url sources?

Haha nice! I mean it gets an A for unintended humour

Obvious takes about the inevitable enshittification of AI - but the deeper one is that AI will end up enshittifying intelligence itself. Same old playbook. Undercut functioning thing by financial brute force, monopolise, monetise, enshittify.

Wow I really love how oldskool implementations can be in this age - guess with modern data pipes you can kind of get away with this stuff at framerate so why the hell not!

Heard it's bot central though - all appearing on secondary markets for £100s. Good job on getting one - that gig at the Brudenell is going to be nuts!

I think I first popped up on DoA around then, yes!

Ace! A video course is definitely on my list. It’s such a deep platform and you’re right there’s very little out there in the way of tutorials and I would love to step up

Exactly the topic I love about this whole adventure! It’s deterministic so no randomisation. Leans heavily on multiplying integer clock counts by decorrelated floats, modulo-ing them to 0-1 then scaling them. That’s basically the whole trick.

Ace! I’m working on a prelaunch coming very soon. Hard not to just keep on building modules haha

Nightlight. IDM type beat. 10 mins, 10 modules from my new generative modular system. It’s getting hard to concentrate on actually developing it.

Yes that's the dub delay from Scapeshift that I've repurposed as a module for this new system. It does a lot of lifting here!

This is also true - you really get to know what's good and what's worth pushing

haha mate if it's someone else's clock go wild! It's also very directive and clarifying to get really used to how it feels to get lost in it. But yeah there comes a point...

AFX type beat. I'm building a new generative modular system. Threw these instruments together and got a happy ACID-ent. Also turns out you only need 10 notes per octave... and a sawtooth... and some polymetric modulation...

I'm at the 'it's making nice noises' phase of building something new and it is VERY DISTRACTING

Poeticallly I couldn’t make it due to grinding against this economy to support a family - but this reel makes me feel there. Thank you!

Has anyone seen Squarepusher and David Mitchell in the same room?

I've emailed them to ask about it - I've seen it's planned in a future update but not here yet

Aha thank you! Noted!

Sadly yes although I feel a bit disingenuous here a Novation actually sent me one. Silly though as I literally can’t use it without raw inc / dec data!
