My phone camera sucks but I made crimenos and bargeoskha acrylic block for myself ✌

working on catalogue... i havent slept in like 24 hours
my old catalogue file is in my old laptop and my old laptop is NOT cooperating with me tonight so i guess im making a new one from scratch
Its not a hot take but man the way the word "content" is used these days. A vile bit of late stage capitalist propaganda, lumping all forms of human creativity and expression into a single wastebin teaching the public to treat all art as disposable.
The way profit maxxing corpo culture has invaded every form of art through algorithms pushing people into daily posting is really weighing on me lately. Efficiency and regularity of making "content" being prized above all else feels so grim, man.

im super sleepy today... i went to the dentist and picked up some merch (they turned out really cute)... i need to work on my catalogue so i can post it tomorrow...
i think we need to be a little more vigilant about how we gather ref images. sure, ai is becoming increasingly realistic and harder to discern from real photos. but just as important, photography is a legitimate form of art. if you recklessly copy images online you may stealing another artist’s work
i keep seeing artists openly admitting that they used a reference photo that just “turned out to be ai” and i always ask myself: are people really drawing photos whose sources are unknown? you don’t seek consent before drawing someone else’s photos?

unless im lazy or just want a quick drawing, i always try not to do a 1:1 pose to the reference. i try to mix up a few different poses/angles to create a unique one cause im afraid the above scenario happens. (tho i guess there's nothing wrong with that(?))
