OMG yes! I was an independent and thought McCain was the best candidate until he sold out to the Right and selected Palin. I was so disappointed. He redeemed himself in the ACA repeal vote in 2017.

I was a registered R for a few years because the town I lived in was solid GOP and the only way you got a say in who was elected was to vote in the primary. Before that I was an independent who voted for the best person.

Everything changed in 2016.

In my little corner of Union Co there wasn’t any messaging from the county party. I give them props for running phone banks for Harris. I am reserving all my post-election bile for Murphy and the state party. 🤬
