I've been enjoying messing around with making pre-rendered backgrounds. There was something oddly creepy about the cleanliness of the environments in RE1.

I love the cheesiness, the low quality footage, the random specs flying at you like it's THE FUTURE.

I've had a LOT of fun exploring this again. Going back in time to getting a PS1 with maybe 1 game was rough but having this disc as a telescope to view the possibilities of the system further ignited your interest in its library.

Those mics cost money. If they're not waving it about, you can't see the money they spent!

If you pre-order a game in 2026, you have no right to moan about it being shit upon release.

It could be that I'm completely shit at fighting games, but god damn this fella is a bastard.

Footage is from the Dreamcast version of the game (OG hardware via the RetroTINK 4K)

I finally beat Soul Reaver for the first time. Here's my experience with it:

I have no idea how to beat that level without just tanking every hit and firing as quickly has my old hands will let me!

And the messy son of a gun spilled ketchup all over the floor before he died.

The ending screen of Vectorman on the Sega Mega Drive.

The ending screen of Vectorman on the Sega Mega Drive.

I finally beat Vectorman on the Mega Drive. Had this game as a kid and couldn't get far at all. I think it's becoming apparent that I was just shit at games as a kid. Also, the fact that a 1995 game had a single screen ending is disgusting.

While I love the cool interface of MilkyTracker, I just don't think it's for me.

So... after quite a few hours of playing it... I don't think I'm a fan of Metroid Prime. The first one.

When I first started really getting into composing music for videogames, I used OpenMPT. I've not really touched it in over 10 years but I thought it'd be fun to try some SNES-style conversions of Mega Drive tunes. Sampled my own guitar for this one too!

Did I waste my time? Maybe. Did I enjoy doing it? Probably. youtu.be/h9DUw9qAEfI

Would you have this on a Christmas jumper?

I don't even care about the substandard plot; this is an excellent example of a Wii game ruined by prioritising motion control/pointer gimmicks over making the controls actually fluid and effective.

I made a knitted jumper mask for the RetroTINK 4K. Now I feel festive.

I recently beat Metroid Dread (I've owned it for over a year and only just got round to playing it). This screenshot basically sums up my experience. I had fun though!

I made an LCD mask inspired by the DS screen. Yes it hurts your eyes just as much in real life.
