hooo so no registers? Just stack offsets? Lua style :p

I’m late to the party, but I have a question, it’s a compiled langage ? Or is it transpiled?
i've realized too late that i've made this game's artstyle way too detailed. adding anything new to the project takes an unbelievably long time.
at this point i'm considering redoing all the graphics to be simpler :/

Still working on my engine/console editor! I now have nearly everything I need to implement it correctly! I've beaten the final boss of my life, the UI Lib !!
Now something worse took it's place, font loading and rasterisation. 😢
So I side tracked a bit and worked on the style!

I postponed it as much as I could.. I need to… to.. write a immediate mode GUI library for Usagi ;(
Need to do a lot of reading on the subject because I have no idea of how to implement that! UI has always been the final boss of my life.. (that and depression but it doesn’t count in this context :p)
Ho it’s interesting ! Is there is a way to test it ?
Haha, not so soon unfortunatly
The biggest challenge for me will be to implement a correct GUI library, I suck a that... and I need to solve some isssues related to how the editor would be distributed and installed on the user computer, I have no experience on that.
The idea is to make a simple host for running Usagi cartridges as tools. I take inspiration from riced linux setup and I want to propose a tiling manager to setup tools in a grid across several screens. Tools would communicate together via a simple protocol kin to serial bus.
OK, I have too much fun working on Usagi so in order to work on it even longer I decided to lean fully in the scope creep side of development. I decided to implement an editor!
BEHOLD!! An Usagi game running inside an another Usagi game! The first step to my mighty editor!

Yeah it work very well. But it’s so damn complex and indeed very confusing. I don’t like not being able to know if what I’m doing is shitty or the intended way of doing things ;p
Is CMake like olives? You don't like it at first and then one day you cannot go without?
Because, right now I'm wayyy past the "I don't like it" phase and right in the "it doesn't like me either" phase.

Damn! This is sick! Gimme gimme!
What's better after a looong day than opening Clion to work on the Empscripten port of my engine?
EVERYTHING! PLZ SEND HELP!
I have to rewrite so many things... ='(

** facepalm **
Why didn’t I think of that?
What would you do? I think the controller is the first thing to improve, I love the game but it’s a bit clunky.
Onimusha !!
But who would take Jean Reno’s place ?
I'm in love with this <3
I really liked it !
a bit disorienting at first but after that it’s just awesome !
I bookmarked it for quick play during lunch break ;p
Usagi is really slowly coming together!
A small boid demo to celebrate a big iteration cycle done!
Now let's improve stability and quality of life!

Leeeeet's go!! I have TONS of ideas!
Usagi is even faster now!!!
I reworked my primitive drawing methods to remove any call to anything polymorphic during the drawing loop to help the compiler do it's work. The results are impressive, from 5000 balls before to 160 000 now!
A bit more work and I'll rename it Harinezumi !

Welcome screen of the game block block block with a title saying Usagi - FPS 60 - run : 0.47ms
After a looooot a bugs and some additional grey hair.. we're now rocking LuaJit on an optimised engine! With direct access to the virtual memory from the Lua!
Usagi has never been so fast 0.47ms on Block Block Block ! This same game was running at 6 ms a week ago!

hahaha I knew it, the ***** filesystem =p
And for what 2% of users on macOS and 0.5% on linux? I admire the dedication! But yeah It's kinda important to make games available everywhere <3
Even with SDL, you often have issues? But yeah multiplatform is hard. Not the same experience, but making The Rogue Prince of Persia fit in the switch's RAM was an experience =p
