I was about 3 months pregnant, a newly 17yo, when this happened. It's crazy to think that I haven't known a life where my children and I wouldn't have some sort of access to healthcare.
Even then, I was naive to it but this helped prevent me from crippling medical debt before I was even 18.

The ACA is the only reason my mother was able to be treated for her non-Hodgkin lymphoma. She is doing well now but I'm terrified for her in the near future.
It's not a perfect system but it's been a lifeline for many and it's something.
