“We need to violate both the Constitution and basic human decency because I’m a shitty person.”
Fuck alllllll the way off, lady.

Lady, good-natured five-year-olds can make friends with anyone, anywhere, anytime - especially with other children.
I’m not winning Father of the Year anytime soon but even I know that if your kid can only make friends with kids who also speak English, that’s 100% a you problem.
I don’t think LAFC should lose 1-4 at home.
What’s with the bizarre smile she puts on every time she stops talking? Is it something PR professionals coach their clients to do during TV interviews?
It’s weird, man. What’s going on here?
The only way we unfuck our country is through a puritanical anti-corruption drive. We need to rip out a vast substrate of corrupt elites and marginalize an even larger contingent of mere incompetents and cowards.
Ppl need to be terrified of the white-collar criminal laws of the United States again.
This is exactly right. The SC is a partisan institution, not a legal one.
Shorter Beshear:
“Dear National Media & GOP,
Please enjoy this club I made. It will be useful to beat Democrats with.
Sincerely,
The Governor of Kentucky”
Laura Ingraham on Twitter, saying, “Weed, psychedelics, online gambling, and OnlyFans… what a wonderful menu of activities we are bequeathing the coming generations.”
Very true. Historians agree no one ever got high, dropped acid, gambled, or took racy pictures until now.
“I recognize that yelling ‘Yer, out!’ before the ball reaches the catcher’s mitt is not typical. But this is the most down-the-middle pitch ever thrown. The hitter will hit the ball it too far, too easily, and the consequences will be too great.”
Balls and strikes, man. Balls and fuckin’ strikes.
This will certainly be an effective rebuke to Donald Trump, a famously avid reader.
We’re about to find out whether 200 years of capitalist economic theory can be overthrown by “Yeah but instead of being normal you fucking dorks spent $1 trillion on an imaginary friend.”
anyway, if this court is going to act as little more than a partisan legislature than it ought to be treated like one by the actual legislature
If this dude didn’t work for a fascist regime bent on looting our country and the world while killing anyone who gets in their way, these stories would be fucking hilarious.
Actually, they’re still fucking hilarious.

It was not until this very moment that I realized the surname in question was not “detestable.”
United States Conference of Catholic Bishops The Catechism of the Catholic Church on Just War Doctrine All citizens and all governments are obliged to work for the avoidance of war. However, "as long as the danger of war persists and there is no international authority with the necessary competence and power, governments cannot be denied the right of lawful self-defense, once all peace efforts have failed." (CCC, no. no.2308) The strict conditions for legitimate defense by military force require rigorous consideration. The gravity of such a decision makes it subject to rigorous conditions of moral legitimacy. At one and the same time: 1 The damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community of nations must be lasting, grave, and certain; 3 There must be serious prospects of success; 2 All other means of putting an end to it must have been shown to be impractical or ineffective; 4 The use of arms must not produce evils and disorders graver than the evil to be eliminated. The power of modern means of destruction These are the traditional elements enumerated in what is called the weighs very heavily in evaluating "just war" doctrine. The evaluation of this condition. these conditions for moral legitimacy belongs to the prudential judgment of those who have responsibility for the common good. (CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, NO. 2309) The Church and human reason both assert the permanent validity of the moral law during armed conflict. "The mere fact that war has regrettably broken out does not mean that everything becomes licit between the warring parties." (CCC, no. 2312) PRAY FOR PEACE.
Bishops doubling down
In evaluating legal arguments and advocacy of academics like Randy Barnett and Kurt Lash, consider that their statements about the Eastman disbarment reveals that they think lying to courts and the public is neither legally nor morally blameworthy. They think lying is fine; judge them accordingly.
Done. Thanks for the tip.
Love seeing conservatives argue for separation between church and state but only when religious doctrine conflicts with blowing people up
I happened to chaperone a field trip to see them when our boys were in elementary school. The kids went from their usual rambunctious chaos to being M-E-S-M-E-R-I-Z-E-D in, like, thirty seconds. Happy to see the troupe getting its flowers.
"The effort comes in response to longstanding criticism that Harvard’s faculty leans overwhelmingly liberal."
Golly, I wonder why faculties tend to be overwhelmingly liberal? Are liberals more drawn to teaching? Have conservatives been engaged in a long war on science and knowledge? WHO KNOWS?
(It’s actually a combination of three: The story is bs, Trump is a deranged narcissist, and all the anti-DEI stuff is just bullshit gutter racism.)
Either this story is false and Trump is a cruel, deranged narcissist, or it is true and everything the Trump admin has said about “hiring only for merit” was a lie.
When I read Trump’s “weak on crime” post about the pope I figured that every Trump-voting American Catholic would examine their conscience and decide they’ve gotta side with Caesar on this one.
I was wrong. They never even bothered to examine their consciences.
The RV stuff is “I’m just like you Red Staters” cosplay. His real vacations are with billionaires, by billionaires, and for billionaires.
It’s working. Keep it up.
“… the Holy Father carefully references in his comments” is a specific response to Vance.
Drop your crime fighting Catholics.
Again, I could be either missing something or hopelessly naive, but this group doesn’t come across as an AstroTurf product of the national Democratic Consulting Machine. They seem like a group of 20-somethings who started a grassroots group to fight one specific thing.
If you read the article you’ll see that quote is from a former member of the team saying that was a mistake they made.
Hopefully they learn from it. Or maybe some of them learn from it and start a different group that’s better.
I dunno, this stuff is messy. But at least they’re trying.
I canceled my sense of humor because of Bezos’s support of Trump. You should too.
