Oh they probably are but it's also kind of a Lord of the rings thing where people want to come back to the theater so they make it an event. Let's be honest this is for the DieHards your average fan won't understand this

As someone who has neither written nor knows how to write a script that ties into nearly 20 years of films & hows related to multi-billion-dollar franchises...Cool.
I mean I don't know how to do any of this so GL to the team trying to put this massive project together.
One more fun Kiln thing dropped today! The Official Xbox Podcast welcomed Derek, Jared, and Lauren to talk about Kiln on the newest episode. It's a great interview, and we hope you enjoy listening to our devs diving into what makes the game unique!
Honestly I said before then I'll say it again they don't need marvel to do a crossover franchise. They could literally make their own tag fighter with all of their own IPs and crush it. Especially without all the mouse overhead
I have a Capcom Tattoo and plan a second. They've made my favorite games since I was 5 (40's now). I'm insanely proud to own (literally) every title they've made. Bravo team. I'm excited to see more new and continuing stories in the future.
Man...I didn't realize how far Panera had fallen. That used to be a great standard and now....omg. Not shocked seeing what happened after the sale.

I work at Kotaku now! :)
You can go watch back today's KFGD to hear me talk about it a little if you want. You could also read my alma mater @gibiz.bsky.social to learn more! www.gamesindustry.biz/kotaku-hires...
I'm finding this article at a time where I'm feeling a lot of feelings. Esp and where I'm allowed to put marketing efforts vs where I am not. This helped me articulate thoughts that I've had for a while..
There have been a handful in the last 10 years that get the title but I agree it's not often worth it.

I'm hoping that through writing this book I can better understand my own strategic needs but, for now I just hope you like recipe for TTK Muffins.
Doing things that take a year to show progress, and then 5 years to show long-term value is by far the most difficult bar to hurdle in my career. The next one after that is convincing others who don't understand that value.
I currently work in a field where the value of my work is constantly in question. After a decade in kitchens, Having a speedy turn around time to see results was something I genuinely didn't appreciate enough.
I'm not precious about my recipes and I'm not dumb enough to assume that everything that I've made is so unique that my way is the only way. I have 50 cookbooks in my library and I still make adjustments.
My issue with my last two cookbooks:
1) I didn't have enough feedback from the people who made those recipes.
2) I didn't have enough people who made adjustments or modded my steps or used more accessible ingredients.
3) I feel like the books don't empower you to play.
I've been writing my third cookbook for just over a year now. It's much harder than my prior formats which is fine. I aim to subvert the direction I went last time. I enjoyed what I produced but now I don't think they serve the audience I really want to speak to.
I don't do what's evil I do what's necessary.
Of course, and being as familiar as I am with video retention - 100%. Again, my suggestion comes from an uninformed external pov unaware of strategy, or what's considered a positive for ROI on your channels. Still, I believe that the audience could be less hostile with more understanding of the team
Yes indeed Ive seen that! Certainly in the CD review which added a ton of context to the why. Travis was clear on his points, I've always enjoyed it. My only note was to move it up, preface the review/content with the context of the individual first. I argue we should know more about him/them
Or just to at least kick things off help the broad audience: understand how this all works. How the website monetizes. How writers are assigned and how things work. I've seen articles on this but I think the lack of understanding is what leads to the.. well lack of a better word brain dead comments.
For example I would like to know much more about the writers. How much time they had to play. The profiles moved up instead of the bottom where there's a small synopsis about them.
More retrospective work or post patch revisits. I have seen that come round and it's Wonderful to see
And I certainly don't want them all aspiring to be YouTube creators because I know what that path actually looks like. I am far more interested in being part of the solution
Oh goodness I in no way want to assess that I have a good solution. If anything I think it's worth a larger discussion especially since we are deep within the same circles. This comes from conversations with folks in their late teens to ask How about their future in games. Journalism can't fade
Plus I think there are unique pieces that are written or crafted via video that are underappreciated because of the lack of consistency with your audience sentiment. And short I really hope reviews don't remain your bread and butter because I think everybody on that team wants to do more
As someone who works deeply in the creator field I understand how audiences are becoming more comfortable taking recommendation from individual content creators because of the consistency of their tastes. This is an apparent with IGN nor outlets much like it.
I have a lot of friends at IGN so I say this with constructive criticism and not the unwashed behavior of the internet. I don't think this is working anymore.
I think the model, how you highlight individual reviewers, and how you Make decisions on dropping a score at embargo needs modernization.
Like there is a level of complexity in baldur's gate when it comes to decision mapping that feels like it could be adapted to interrogation but again haven't seen anything close to it.
Agreed. even the interrogation mechanics haven't really made a comeback in games where it would make so much sense so I start to wonder what parts are easy and what parts are difficult. Again this is coming from a very ignorant perspective.
Hell, I remember the final Fantasy clones for a time. Oh and that weird time where everybody made a football baseball basketball and soccer game
