So sorry for your loss 😔
So update about the "cuts" thing from this week. Obviously I'm fine.
I've fortunately survived several cuts over the years. I've learned that you never know what tomorrow brings. You can only do so much but in the end your fate is out of your hands sometimes.
This one still made me nervous though.
Still going on! I am five subs away from having to play Nurse!

On a hike with Finn.
Stranger: "Oh you guys look like be big Star Fans"
Me: "Oh I'm not. I'm just trying to make him feel supported about his Fandom"
*took them a sec to realize I was joking*
Going to be honest, this week has sucked. Usually I'm the calm collected one with a, "It's fine. Whatever happens happens" approach to these "cuts". This one feels different though.
The dread of not knowing if you're getting the dreaded call tomorrow or the day after feel like death by 1000 cuts.
Lol
Barely started and already a damaged piece.
Not mission critical and can be added afterwards whenever a replacement piece comes.
Finn is at daycare and I'm using my day off to build a wardrobe. There is 0% chance he'd let me do this if he was at home because any change in the daily routine or to his home is a devastating crime against him.
the irony of having a one-on-one HR layoff meeting in the conference room with my Loki mural on it
I love the folks who ask, "Yeah but what does this mean for this thing I'm looking forward to?" in response to a layoff story.
I get it... legit question.
But at the present moment while people are clearing their desk and their lives (and their families) are affected.
Seriously, who gives a damn?
😔
Funny bit of silliness with all this at MetLife Stadium (and other US stadiums).
FIFA is making the US stadiums with sponsorship names change the name during the World Cup.... because of "policies forbidding corporate-sponsored".
But pay no attention to FIFAs decades of corruption though.
If this is true... this is insane.
Compound this with the fact that they're not allowing people to drive and park at the stadium for this, this will be a nightmare.
I don't think the international soccer fan coming to see these games there are prepared for the chaos to get in and out of there.
Almost forgot.
Happy Rex Manning Day

This week, we break down the Supergirl trailer, Pokémon Centers in Japan cancel all events after a stabbing, and Love Live! Hasu no Sora Jōgakuin School Idol Club Project Gets anime in 2027, and an AI Game about podcasting?! And this week's discussion topic, "How do you handle…
There was a cute moment when my nephew (who's older now) said that his love for gaming was inspired by me. He remembered coming over and playing video games at our place as a kid and that I had "all the cool systems". Melted my gamer heart.
This past weekend we had my grandmother's funeral. In order for us to attend we had to do 8hrs (4hrs there and back) same day, which was tough on us. Long day but it was nice seeing family and folks I hadn't seen in years.
.... This worries me

So, a clear Sailor Moon fan was part of NASA's moon launch yesterday.
They put a plush of Artemis on their desk.
They even have a Sailor Moon lanyard.

Came back from the new Mario movie.
If you're expecting deep thought provoking flawless plot then you'll be disappointed.
But if you're up for beautiful visuals, silly fun and tons of Easter eggs then you'll have a good time.
I went with my nephew and he had a blast.
A man and a woman sit side-by-side in a brightly lit, modern room. The man on the left has pulled-back hair, a greyish beard, and wears a light blue long sleeve shirt. A medical breathing tube is visible at his neck. To the right, a woman with long reddish-brown hair wearing a grey "VARIANT" sweatshirt looks toward him with a warm smile. The background features a large window with natural light, a potted plant, and minimalist black furniture.
There is a hidden "disability tax" on dating nobody wants to talk about. From the physical toll to the literal cost of accessibility, dating while disabled is expensive.
I mean, dating is hard, and long-distance is harder, but for disabled people like us, the "invisible costs" can be overwhelming.
Several months ago I visited my grandmother. She couldn't attend the wedding due to her health so we brought photos and Finn for her to meet.
I knew this was likely the last time I was going to see her. She was cognizant and we had good conversations. So I'm glad this was the last time with her.
Last night my grandmother passed away. Don't worry I'm fine. This was expected and we're just happy she no longer suffering. I was fortunate to have had her in my life and that she lived to 97.
