feel the post about soulslikes correlating with the rise of the far right that was doing the rounds is wrong, and not just because i happen to like these games

I'm not under the illusion that I live in "the greatest country in the world" but when Americans mug off Britain I just have three things to say:

1. Our supermarket sandwiches are undefeated, American food is BAD.

2. Our wall plugs are undefeated, North American plugs suck.

3. Day. Month. Year.

Ok, Tom Holland’s great and all, but as Bond? The fuck are they on? This is legit about fucking insta followers isn’t it?

My picks atm would be Inua Ellams, Jack Thorne or Toby Whithouse (the former two I think are better choices for their youth, the latter if they want to play it safe), at least Ellams and Whithouse have expressed some interest

Amazon may be about to kill the Bond film franchise, but at least we have this

I might get one when The Duskbloods comes out next year, but probably not before

Would’ve been my pick post-Moffat over Chibnall, but after Story and the Engine, I’m curious about Inua Ellams, feels like he really gets the show and he did say he had an idea for a series (could also just go Whithouse then Ellams too, or both as co-showrunners, I’d be happy with that)

Once again reiterating that “Doctor Who needs a showrunner who isn’t a fan” is a needless jump when they’ve not even tried “showrunner that’s not part of the same group of 90s fans that have been driving the show since it came back” yet

So I overall liked The Reality War… but got a bit messy in the last 20 minutes and my thoughts on the ending are… mixed

Still, hope the show does get renewed so I can witness Russell’s next drug fuelled fever dream in real time

I literally just got into this show ffs

Silicon Valley sees in AI the chance to finally subsume the entertainment industry.

The internet + streaming didn't win them enough. Creators and rights holders still owned what was important: the content itself.

So, didn’t give my thoughts on Lucky Day, I thought it was pretty good and easily the best Pete McTigue episode

Had a lot of really neat ideas I wish would’ve been spread over a couple of episodes or even as part of a series arc (could’ve also afforded a smidge more subtlety in places)

Yeah, The Well’s my favourite episode of the season so far, contender for top 2 or 3 of the era

Collective licence to ensure UK authors get paid for works used to train AI A pioneering alternative to the opt-out system proposed by the government is supported by publishers and writers and is set to be available for use this summer UK licensing bodies have announced a “pioneering” collective licence that will allow authors to be paid for the use of their works to train generative AI models. The Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) – which is directed by the Publishers’ Licensing Services (PLS) and the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society (ALCS), representing publishers and authors – will develop the licence, set to be the first of its kind in the UK. I am really saddened by the level of vitriol and hatred being directed toward the trans community.

We are losing our common humanity. How hard is it to treat people with kindness and respect?

Trans people are human beings — and they deserve to live in dignity like anyone else.

Second near perfect review I’ve seen on the next episode, got my anticipation building big time, very excited

So first impression of The Robot Revolution, it’s fine, will watch it again on broadcast for a proper evaluation, but honestly preferred Space Babies and The Star Beast

Sledgehammer-wielding Musk critics smash up Tesla in London art project Campaign group Everyone Hates Elon organised protest with car bound for scrap heap ‘to create debate about wealth inequality’ Protective helmets were donned and sledgehammers wielded as Elon Musk critics vented their frustration at the Tesla boss and billionaire by smashing up a disused Tesla bound for the scrap heap. The public art project was organised by the social media campaign group Everyone Hates Elon. A 2014 Tesla Model S was provided by an anonymous donor “to create a debate about wealth inequality”, a spokesperson for the group said. Continue reading...

After reading the Miyazaki interview, I’m a little more interested in the Duskbloods

I’m not really a PvP guy, and I don’t know if I’m willing to buy a Switch 2 to play it, but it has intrigued me
