Five women smiling and holding picket signs saying chop from the top, fair COLA now, and Bad Budget for students
Portland Community College faculty, staff, and academic professionals are still on strike and we've been picketing every day since 3/11. If you care about educators, please support our strike fund! pccffap.org/resources/pc...
I'm so sick of hearing "if voting worked, they wouldn't let us do it."
If voting didn't work, they wouldn't be trying so hard not to fucking let us do it!
OMG!!!! Just watched the Rifftrax version of that last night. Now I canβt unsee this. π
Important insight. ALSO, I have no patience (and I mean ZERO) with people who say "they won't ban birth control." They will eventually try BECAUSE WHAT THEY WANT IS TO CONTROL YOUR BODILY AUTONOMY. We need to be proactive about BODILY AUTONOMY IN GENERAL.
Tasty signature.

Sahan's multimedia journalist, Dymanh Chhoun, joined me for the trips, and together we talked with several residents and activists who look out for federa immigration enforcement activity in the area. They told us that their neighborhoods have changed. Federal agents often show up when it's still dark outside. around midnight or between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m - almost every day. They park outside the entrances of the mobile home parks, in nearby gas stations or behind local businesses, to stav out of view. At a few mobile home parks, residents said federa agents are patrolling the school bus stops, presumably waiting to run into parents accompanying their children. Many of these neighborhoods are secluded, lying on the outskirts of suburbs, and they often have just one or two roadways leading into the park. As a result, immigration agents can easily choke off residents access to exits These unique challenges make it harder for volunteers to quickly arrive at the scene
How things are going in MN since the "drawdown" began
Very cute illustrated cover of a zine titled "Fiery Recipes to Abolish ICE". Cover is Risograph printed in blue and yellow and features illustrations of peppers and fires with fun facial expressions.
Three scenes describing the zine. Text reads: "Fiery Recipes to Abolish ICE is a cooking zine that features 10 spicy recipes from 10 different food writers. We are raising funds to donate to anti-ICE groups because everyone should have the right to safety, food, and the freedom to live in the U.S., a country built by immigrants. Besides zine production and mailing costs, ALL of the proceeds will be donated to Minnesota-based organizations fighting against the injustices of ICE."
Check out "Fiery Recipes to Abolish ICE," a riso-printed cook zine raising money for Minnesota organizations fighting ICE! $30 includes shipping & support for MN immigrants. πΆπ₯
