having to remind myself of this lately too. true friends will accept periods of distance - I know I do it for other people, and as hard as it is, I have to trust that there *are* people who will do it for me.

Absolutely my first thought was "so a machine can go faster than people, why are we even a little surprised?"

I'm so late and i had to leave Jasper at daycare (which you paid for, thank youuuuu) but I'm managing!

I'm going to be very late for @alepresser.com and @kbspangler.com thanks to ME/CFS and weather, but I'm not turning back, so it could be worse ... hopefully they let me in halfway through. :(

(I'm compulsively early, so according to me i should be there now, and I'm 35 minutes out)

tl;dr without him in the picture, I'm not likely to get two and a half years - hence my being screened regularly as a high-risk previvor.

Double tl;dr this study had both his and my donated tissue in it, because I don't want to go down like that. Look what we did, dad!

My dad's unprecedented survival for two and a half years is because he and I were working with the team to fast and loose make up treatment protocols on the fly to buy more time. He was on TPN for half that. Non-medicos don't likely have that option, because what patient family would think to ask?

Pompey/Neesy, a grey cat with yellow-green eyes, looking very silly in the hammock of a grey cat tree, limbs everywhere.

Neesy/Pompey on his cat tree looking marginally less silly. but still pretty silly.

Yes, thank you!

I'm currently reading Anatomy of Dogs with my dog, and he has tried to chew the corner of a page. I believe he likes it a lot.

You're doing it to show respect for other trans people, not her! (The trans people reading this website probably appreciate it and she definitely doesn't care)

Her name is Caitlyn, even if it should be Karen, you're right.

But no matter how awful she is, she is not "Bruce" or "he," and when referring to her in the past, she is still herself and not a deadname with incorrect pronouns. Thank you 💕

The end of the sidewalk, where the concrete meets the rabbit-bitten grass. Seemed important at the time.

Hello, cousin!

(Likely we are actual distant cousins!)

I feel precisely the same.

I loved my Allbirds and desperately wanted to replace them when I got a job.

I'm so sad I apparently never will.

I definitely had not met the concept of sin until adulthood, so at least one very large congregation concurs.

If it wouldn't hurt the bird ...

Pretty sure it depends on the store, yeah. I've never had an issue anywhere except Hannaford (and it wasn't my personal issue). My OCD is bad enough that I'm afraid of cashiers so I stick to self check myself wherever I can, buuuut caution advised.

They legit do! Everywhere they are there is a better option (it's a grocery store in the same region as the superior Pricechopper/Market 32).

Very much so!

This near exact thing happened to my family with Hannaford, except it was within hours and he tried to pay a second time.

He can now be arrested for trespass at any Hannaford despite having done absolutely nothing wrong.

(Charges were thrown out by the DA as soon as our public defender filed.)

A sign on a fence reading: "Riverside Park
Conservancy
This is not a hornet.
It's your friendly neighborhood Cicada Killer!
You will sometimes see cicada killers in Riverside Park. Only slightly cuter than the murder hornet, these insects have an intimidating name and appearance, but they are actually harmless to humans.
Male cicada killers are visible and territorial but they cannot sting. Female cicada killers spend most of their time digging out nests in the ground or hunting for cicadas. They are not likely to bother with you unless you are a cicada.
(Sorry to any cicadas reading this)
As with all of NYC wildlife, please respect these insects and leave them be."

My rent fundraiser is a bit stalled and I'm a bad marketer and definitely am not having any luck with finding work (just many exhausting pointless interviews and applications) so i have very little of it left but it's all in that basket.

I'm able to spin up a self-hosted Ghost or help webmaster a hosted version in like, two hours if there's an assistance need. I currently have no projects generating income so I have time!

You can see why I'm more willing to go into a shelter than try to leave the city! (It's not like I can get an apartment anywhere else either, but I can kinda trust the shelters here now!)

You mean the rapist Brock Turner, who now goes by Brock Allan Turner or Allan Turner in order to avoid coming up in search results for rapist?

(my account is locked to logged in users but whatever it still seemed important)
