Hey Bluesky... been a minute... or 6 months...

Either way, let's kick off 2026 right with a new outlook on illustration and art. Here's a recent illustration I made of longhorns in a field (completed in 2B Graphite) for my good buddy @natebwells.bsky.social .

"Spinosaurus In The Shallows"

Colors over my Spinosaurus illustration / paleoart from last month. Enjoy!

Spear and Fang from Genndy Tartakovsky's magnificent cartoon, "Primal".

An action packed epic starring a caveman and his T-Rex companion (with a healthy dose of unprecedentedly good story telling and emotion) was practically tailor- made for me...

"Daredevil: The Man Without Fear!"

Finally got a chance to play around with some color on this DD piece from a few weeks back. Nestled somewhere between Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Silver Surfer, Matt Murdock would be one of my dream Marvel characters to work on (even if in a cover-only capacity).

Decided to throw some colors down on some of my recent Dinosaur / Paleontology inspired illustrations. Here is my "Elasmosaurus Hunting Party" piece with some beachy vibes to it.

A sky battle between Arambourgiania, a late cretaceous pterosaur. These azhdarchids were possibly some of the largest flying animals of all time.

A Parasaurolophus herd crossing an arid landscape.

I've been finding National Geographic photography to be endlessly insightful for inspiring compositions in my work lately. There's true authenticity in natural photography that really lends itself towards inspiring art that feels lived in.

An Elasmosaurus hunting party. I just started "Prehistoric Planet" (days after drawing this piece), and nearly spat out my drink when I saw the third episode in which three Elasmosaurus are shown hunting like this...

"Parallel Thinking" is wild.

Argentinosaurus (One of the largest animals to ever walk the earth) with a bit of extra plumage and spike details because there is nothing in the fossil record to say whether this is wrong or right... but I am most likely very wrong with this depiction.

Any "artist" using AI in any capacity has given up on their own humanity. Its a reflection of our modern obsession to produce "content"; our need to keep up with the river of social media and not get lost in its rapids of algorithms.

"Walkway For Mammoths"

Taking a stab at building up my paleoart portfolio with a wider range of dinosaur and prehistoric animal illustrations. Mammoths are incredibly fascinating, and given our knowledge of modern elephants, it makes you wonder how complex their relationships were.

Taking reprieve from the hot Cretaceous heat, the Spinosaurus finds itself in a shallow pool to cool off in.

One more Scarlet Witch piece, because the last one wasn't enough for me.

Its Bruce Banner! Look at the over stretched, torn, slightly purple pants!

A long way to go, but I'm not giving up yet! This is important to me because although we're only a 2 person operation at Dauntless we get dozens of subs a week and I would do ANYTHING to be able to say yes to more people. This showcase is a step towards being able to do that!

"King Kong"

The original giant monster. I've considered doing a self-published Kong comic before, but I think it's been done so well by other talents that I wouldn't be adding much to the discourse.
