For perspective Target sold $106.56 billion in 2025, down from $107.41 billion in 2024. That's a 0.79% reduction in sales which is really not detectable by counting cars.

For sure, people gravitate toward the familiar. The whole thing is an own goal, but it's giving cover to much worse companies that are much more profitable.

I don't think that's what the boycott organizers even claimed...but my point is it doesn't matter. This boycott is a malleable idea that reflects the feelings of individuals. Nobody is digging through Best Buy or 3M filings, or protesting at Thompson Reuters. They picked a villain & doubled down.

My opinion, but the organizers of the boycott are clearly not going to get any concessions. Now they are just overplaying their hand.

I personally don't care where people shop so by all means do what feels right. I'm deeply disappointed by then-Target leadership & their silence, but they 100% committed to that choice over a year ago & it would be really foolish to change course now. Nobody changed their mind yet sales are back.
